There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Possum Pusher installed today

Next...

Lamont had me with "Possum Pusher", it totally makes sense (but will it hold up to armadillos?). Where will this end? Roo Bars, Raccoon Racks (oh, no, Bob is getting that from Inspector Gadget).:roflblack:

Two questions before I drill...

Is there a specific drill type and technique that should be used to drill the front holes into the Spyder body? I don't want it to split or something.

Secondly... can the skid-plate be polished? Mine isn't as clean or smooth of a look as I might have expected due to scuff-marks and things that were on it when I received it. These marks will show when I put it on. (Even on the top-side which is the side that will show around the front edges.)

Thanks for any input on this.

1/4 in drill bit works fine, sharp bit works better. My suggestion, and I would have done it this way if I knew to do it this way, get the thing in place with the back bolts and drill a way up front hole. Then put the clip on and screw it in to keep it in place when doing the other holes, I had a couple that for some reason where not quite right. No ideas about polishing, but if it's bad I'm sure he will replace it fast. This is an easy to do 1 man job, and if you want to bling it up a bit there is a bit of a gap between the bumper and the skid plate that is yearning for some LEDs.

Don't forget "Squirrel Squasher". :roflblack:

"Moose-Masher"??

It's the middle of the week, the Barrett-Jackson auction hasn't gotten to the really great cars yet, there's only two football games this weekend, and NASCAR is over a month away...
...And I haven't ridden since October 11th! :gaah: I'm getting jumpy!

Maybe "Wolverine-Waffler"??? :D

I installed one on the RT and it was about a 1 hour job. Don't forget to remove the old thin plastic skid pan and it will for the most part fall in place. I had a few holes that didn't quit line up to begin with but I won that one and glad I did as the first time I rode it, it paid for it's self.

X2. A few holes did not line up but other than that..Easy install !

That's not what SpyderPops calls it's but that's what I call it. :D

I finally had some time to get this mounted and like those have said it looks like it was suppose to be there. I only have about 1600 miles on this RT and I already show some roadrash on the bottom side that I didn't know I had. I think this will save my bacon on those low speedbumps and those little critters that tend to pop up out of nowhere :yikes:

Hey! And it even looks good! Looks like it belongs there for sure. That SpyderPops! He actually comes up with a decent idea every once-in-awhile!

Hi I can recommend the bumper skid. During the installation I noticed that the original small plastic skid had already marks on it as a result of bottoming out, the new skid went on without any problems, the front holes did line up with the skid but the clips did not have sufficient length in them to clip over the holes. Got the file out and filed off some of the spyder plastic at the locations where the clips go...and there you go, easy job though and as a result happy bumper skid owner. I need it as the driveway is 350 meter long and is sand, grass, rocks, kangaroo bones etc
You need to lift the spyder up to be able to work under it !

Kangaroo bones!??? Sounds like there's a story in there somewhere....

Great pictures Lamonster
Have yet to fit mine

Did you remove the old thin plastic Skip Pan or just fit the Bumper Skid over it Some have said the holes do not line up - Is it the because they removed the old Skip Pan or because they left it in Place - Perhaps others will answer this

I an considering leaving my existing thin Skid Pan in place adding the new Bumper Skip pan over it as this will provide extra cover but is there any Advantages or Disadvantages in doing this

It looks a quality product as do all of the items I have purchsed from the Supporting Vendors on this site

Thanks

Looks especially nice on yours Lamont, with all the black graphics and flames going on. I just took delivery of my Spyder RT(pearl white) last night after work and added your IPS key cover which I have had nearly a year first thing, Then today the bumpskid arrived so got that on there today as well. Great mod and should be high on any ones priority list I think...after the IPS key cover of course.

I have a full array of Custom Dynamics L.E.D's on the way to keep me busy next couple weekends...thinking the carbon fiber dash kit might come next, it looks really nice and I have always liked the look of the that stuff and my car has a carbon fiber dash already.

I think you are about out of things to do to that thing now man...I know thats gonna drive ya nuts but it looks awesome. I suppose you'll have to get another one and start all over...I'm the same way in that I have to have something to tinker with constantly.:dontknow:

Ref my ealier post at #34

I have now fitted the Bumper Skid - I decided to fit over the existing thin factory skip pan
I found the tip by JCSMOKE - My suggestion, and I would have done it this way if I knew to do it this way, get the thing in place with the back bolts and drill a way up front hole. Then put the clip on and screw it in to keep it in place when doing the other holes - To be spot on - Thanks JC
All my holes have lined up without any problems - Well pleased with the results
