There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Possible problem 08 GS SE transmission

Went to ride the wifes Spyder the other day and noticed it felt like the clutch was slipping. It was cold outside and the bike really hadn't warmed up good. Was wondering does these tend to do this while they are still cold. Got about 800 miles on new oil change and used the BRP oil being it's still under warranty.
Thanks, David

I have a 2011 with little over 5k miles and have not seen any weather related issues on mine. You may want to double check the oil level to make sure that is not the cause since you just had work done ( better safe than sorry ). Make sure to follow procedure when checking oil. Let us know your outcome..

I have an '08 GS SM5 and on cold days and nights, I let mine warm up to one or two bars on the temperature gauge before ryding it. It does run and shift smoother when it is has warmed up and this could be your problem. Go ahead and check your oil after it is at operating temperature. I don't think it is due to low oil after 800 miles without a problem and do believe it was from ryding it before it had time to warm up. Being under warranty you can use Amsoil a synthetic if you wish and if you do it yourself, BajaRon a Sponsor here and sells the filters and Amsoil. Just make sure you tell him if you have an SE5 or SM5, so he can send you the right filters.

I have a 2011 rss se5. There is a switch on the passenger seat that makes it shift different when a passenger is in that seat. If you ride without passenger and still slips there may be a problem.

The sensor under the passenger seat adjusts the ABS, And the traction control, when the weight of a passenger is added to the seat. I don't think it changes the shift pattern. :dontknow:

Your clutch should not slip regardless (unless you used an oil that you should not have). Even cold the oil at 5w or 10w is thin enough to prevent slippage.

Like stated above I used the BRP oil. I had bought this used with around 11000 miles on it. The only thing is possible they was using Amsoil, which shouldn't matter, or possible clutch problem. The Spyder SE is new to me. I'm a mechanic by trade for over 37 years. Just wondering if others has experienced this. While under warranty might be best to let the dealership look at it.

Tryed to open link and no go. If I have too I will send you a PM when I get home from offshore and give you a call. What you talking about could be Kathy problem.

my new clutch feels like its slipping with less 200 miles on it and i cannot get them to make sure its shimed properly.so they will probly get to build it again .
