• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Hi. New on the forum.
I am going to purchase my wife a used Spyder. I have a line on a 2009 Spyder GS Phantom Black Limited SM5. It has 13,500 miles on it. I had the 12K service performed, new front tires and alignment.
Is there anything I should be looking for or any inherent problems with this model or year that I should be aware of?
Thanks for your time.

Here's the thing....

When you post to a specific forum and then do it agin on the general forum you generate a duplicate thread. All threads posted will go to the general forum regardless of where you post... see the one you posted in Lady Spyderlovers....👀

:welcome: There were some Spyders from that timeframe, that had defective coolant reservoirs...
Every once in a while: they'd split open.
Check the fluid in the clutch reservoir, and good luck!

We had a trouble free 2009 RS. That model was an SE 5 (semi auto). I also had a trouble free 2008 GS SM 5.

If you have checked out the service record, you should be good to go.

Loved my GS

I had my GS for 3 riding seasons (I live in Colorado), put 33k miles on it. Make sure all the recalls have been done, especially the DPS unit (Dynamic Power Steering). I had to replace the coolant reservoir and it was no big deal. Ordered the new one online. At 35,000 I had to replace the belt. Other than that, trouble free. Have fun!!!
