• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Poor Service Poor CanAm response

Man, how completely lame. I am very sorry to hear this. The phone support pretty much sucks to, unfortunately. I tried the phone approach a few times and could not even get to a human being.

It's weird because you hear about how BRP is stepping up their customer support efforts and then you hear about stories like this. That's not stepping up in my book!

Of course we still don't know how much the dealers are playing into this. I just hope SOMEBODY will figure out how to get you going as soon as possible. Best of luck to you. I hope they can figure this out soon.

Further difficulty

I called Can AM. They told me the rep for my trouble file is unavailable, but that they had spoken to the dealer and some parts have been ordered. Still no word on when it might be done. No word on what they intend to do to make things right. They got huffy when I notified them to expect a letter from my lawyer.

I tend to agree. Of course, two can play that game as well. The only difference is for us to do it we usually have to take it in the shorts! :sour:

Sometimes you have to just cut your losses and get out from under a bad situation. It's too bad BRP doesn't get that or care enough to do anything about it. I would just keep pressing them and don't let them knock down your resolve. Somehow there has to be a way to achieve a positive outcome here. Again, best of luck.

lawyers

Lawyers WON'T scare them, The only thing that might is ''COMPETITION''
But by then they made their money, and they'll just go on to other things.

I don't think its a matter of scaring them. its a matter of getting them off there collective :cus: and do something for this guy.

Someone on here or another thread said it best. They are doing all this advertising to bring in new people while not taking care of the current customers. This will lead to disaster for all of us IMO. We can only hope someone comes out with a similar product although i love my spyder, i dont want to be in Kens shoes either.

Seems like a pattern forming here with Can Am. I have found us blaming the dealers for not fixing things may be because Can Am is not following up with them.

But then what do I know:2thumbs:

I have to say, if I didn't already have a spyder and I happened on to spyderlovers and read a thread like this for example (I'm not calling this one out in particular), I would have to think real hard about any purchase from BRP.

I wish BRP would take a hard look at themselves and their dealer network (and of course SL's) and see that they very well may be losing future sales.

Of course, once again we are only getting one side of the story. But, I know from past experience with Carlo, neither he nor BRP will comment on another buyer's issue/experience.

To the original poster, I hope everything turns out okay.

I am thankful there is someone at BRP stepping up to the plate for the consumer. I'm two months into trying to get an adapter to fit a trailer plate to my new trailer. BRP told my dealership's HQ folks to basically take a hike over the fact that in Arkansas and other states the trailer plate is a MC sized plate, not the big standard automotive sized one. The general manager for several franchises is pulling his hair out trying to get something that does not look like crap to mount my tags. I've passed the contact info to them as listed in this thread. Maybe he can get somewhere with Carlo.

It is sad that BRP refuses to address a real problem and put it on the buyer to fix their problem.:gaah:

Man that sucks, im sorry for your problems !!!! I HOPE something happens soon before the summer is gone !!! Carlos if your reading this seems like you could use some help in the C.S dept as you are getting blown up by more and more spyders being out there , if you BRP needs C.S Reps PM me I need to get out of the college i work at before the union contract expires and im left without a job.But thats not what I was getting at Good luck with your spyder we are here to help as much as we can . Muffler being the problem unless there something blocking the exhaust gas exiting or some kind of Malfunction with valves i highly doubt the muffler . But im still learning about the spyders so i could be wrong .

+1 on that...we don't need a Suzuki site to slam us when it's evident that, at times, BRP isn't making a 100% effort to help a person whose bike is under warranty...

SOLVED

Soon after receipt of the letter, both Can-Am and the dealer solved the issue. Can-Am directed the dealer to replace the entire engine/drive package. I am told it will be ready for pick up by the end of the week.

I hope they were specific that they meant the end of this week - the way this has been going for you I'd want a firm date! Good they decided to fix it now that it's 100 degrees out every day-almost to hot to ride. Congrats on your persistence! I'm glad it finally paid off!

Letter to Carlo? or letter from an attorney?

As a recent purchaser, I was reading this thread with growing concern! What a bunch of :cus: to go through. At the same time I was happy to see the Spyder community coming together and becoming concerned and involved! Personally I hate the run around :shemademe_smilie: But happy for the good outcome

great news for you...let's hope Can Am steps up to the plate sooner for others...they are doing quite well and happy customers make repeat customers!

Bad news

Can-Am called me to say that unless I withdraw my legal letter they will no longer talk to me except through their lawyers.

The dealer has told me that now they will get to my cycle when they can and to expect it no sooner than the middle of next week.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Foxtrot Foxtrot!

I guess you have two choices at this point.
Go all the way legally.
Or Fold and maybe delete your negative posts, like some have done then,,catch a case of Stockholm Syndrome.
My take on this is we got your Spyder and maybe you'll get it back sometime if your a good boy.

So what does that mean? That if you don't cave in to their demands they won't touch your machine any longer unless a Lawyer says it's OK to do so? How is that going to work moving forward? You know there are going to be issues down the road. I am baffled by this response from BRP. Must have been a heck of a letter from your attourney!

You will have to let us know what you decide to do. The ironic thing about this whole mess is that if they would have done the right thing from the beginning you would not have felt the need to seek legal council in the first place. Now they are playing this kind of hard ball with you? Again, you'll have to let us know what you decide to do. I can tell you that this is EXACTLY why my Spyder is currently parked and will eventually end up for sale. It's a shame...
