• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Plug and play fan controller

Posted on the other Spyder forum: I think I snagged Evoluziones last fan controller, and after getting everything wired up and configured... I should have taken a video of the Spyder as it was idled... it was 4 bars, the fan controller came on, and it cooled down to 3 bars. Thats IMPOSSIBLE for a Spyder to do on its own in 95 degree heat.. It usually hits 3, 4, 5 (fan comes on), 6..... Then I get scared... The cooling system has the capacity, BRP just didnt program in the proper fan on turn on point to catch the heat in time.. it gets so hot then cant catch up.

Evoluziones is offering to build more fan controllers if he gets at least 10 orders. Visit the other website and look for fan controller posting.

I like Ken and have bought many things from him--- but $165 is way too much for this. You can buy that SPAL PWM controller for 1/2 that price.

I guess if you're in a really hot climate and need it - it would be worth it.

I think a simple manual switch like others have done out here would cover most people with heat problems.

Ordered one too. I end up sitting in traffic a lot. I realize a manual switch is cheaper, but I like the idea of just setting a temp threshold and letting the fan kick in before I bake.

You're right..he's charging a lot more for the same product you listed...I don't think I need either at this time, but Ken should be fair in the pricing of the item...

:agree: That is one heck of a mark-up. For $120 I might snatch this up. Maybe something to do over the winter...

In Ken's defense, he is providing this stuff through his business, not just another Spyder owner trying to make a buck off some folks online. Also, if he put together a wire harness for it to easily attach to the Spyder and gives Spyder specific instructions on how to install it, it's probably worth the extra $40. I can tell you that the average person who wanted to do this and had to go out and aquire all the parts to make the wire harness could probably spend close to half the $40 on parts. Plus your time involved in making your own harness and figuring out where to wire it in is worth something.

This is probably true... good point.
