• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Plexus Replacement???

Hello all,

It appears that many of you use/have used Plexus and from what I've read, although very pricey, it's an amazing product. So I went to my local Cycle Gear store to suck it up and test for myself. I was looking to buy the larger Plexus spray - 13 oz for $25 (bigger bank for my buck) when an employee told me he carried a product that was just as good called Motopro UV Protectant Cleaner & Polish, a 14 oz spray for $15. Yes, $10 cheaper and an additional ounce of product. He said the company that makes Plexus also makes Motopro, but makes this product specifically for Cycle Gear... not sure if this true, didn't really care to research. However, I CAN tell you that it's by far the best product I've used yet, bike literally looks like it was just meticulously washed & waxed. I know that everyone on here has their "go-to" product or particular way of cleaning their Spyder, just wanted to share my experience with those who want to use Plexus but can't stomach the price...

Peace :riding:

Good to know....

Have used plexus and many others. Last was Black Diamond but have found 303 to be best for me. But your right in that everyone has a favorite....

Lemon Pledge

I've tried many products and for the past 8 years have been using lemon pledge.
It works like plexus.
Spray on the windshield or painted areas and it seems to disolve or at least loosen the bug guts.
Leaves a like new shine on the paint and chrome. Cleans mirrors and windshield great.
Much less expensive than motorcycle specific products.

Must be Lemon Pledge. Apparently the other pledge doesn't work the same but I haven't tried them to compare.

But will it get that bug off of your signature line. What about bikes with the flat silver finish

Not sure about the flat silver finish but you could try it in an inconspicuous area.
As far as the bug in my signature line........the lemon pledge doesn't seem to bother it as long as it's alive :)

I have used lemon pledge in the past and it worked very well. The only thing I didn't like was that it attracted bees lots of bees:banghead:

lamonts

i have used pledge and dollar store brand of wax/polish and they work fine but not last as long. WARNING.. do not use on or near any matte finish bike. if wax gets on matte finish it will shine and be a bitch to get off, if possible, so for me and my matte 17F3.. i will stick with lamonts black diamond matte detailer and can use ammonia free glass cleaner.
