I know there are several after market exhausts for the spyder but I was just wondering if any body has tried to modify the stock exhaust for better air flow? What did you do and what was the result? At this point I have the two brothers juice box and have just ordered the Kewl Metal intake. I am a little short on money and was hoping to try something with the stock can. Please let me know! As always, ride safe, all of you...

with the dual setup I used there was/is a definite improvement in power across the band. An expensive mod as far as I am concerned. For me I have the sound I was looking for since I added the cone type tips with an additional torq master baffle on the end of my GL1800 mufflers. With this setup it goes from 0 to 90 and then some real quick. Much quicker than with the stock system.

Also I don't think anyone will jump on you for asking about something but on rare occasions we just might have a different point of view. Me... the glass is always have of something... I can't remember if it is chavis, glenfiddish or full/empty.

Don't really know what you could do with the stock muffler to increase air flow; One of the problems is that the stock has the catalytic converter built into it. I have the Hindle and really like it for both sound and performance. I have seen those on E-Bay for some pretty good prices.:f_spider:

Not sure you can do much w/ the stock muffler. Besides, it looks like a freakin Tootsie Roll (and it weighs a TON). You can get a nice Hindle that sounds louder but mellow or you can go the 2 Brothers Route if you wanna be loud. MM sells the tips to quiet them down. I have 2 Brothers with the tip - good sound!

Seems to me that there was a thread a while back where a guy disassembled the stock muffler and removed the CAT portion and then reassmebled the muffler........might have been on another formum.

Cave man way = [not for faint of hart] 3/8 drill bit, very long drill bit extension. Drill horizaontal into each exhaust hole, Through baffels/ cat. Carefull it's a long way in" Make sure the allen screw holding the bit is tight. ray: you don't want lose it in the can. [this aught to light up the boards]
