• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Plastic belt cover

Installed a Smoothspyder belt tensioner this weekend. Fairly easy install except for an engineering oversight by BRP. When you try to remove the 3 screws for the plastic belt cover, you discover that 2 of them have floating nuts attached that you have to get a socket or wrench on. It's a wraparound double cover and very difficult to get anything on them. To avoid the same hassle in the future I put nut plates over the screw holes. Grommets would probably work also.

Oh its been mentioned in the archives of this forum. Any search for rear fender removal should provide plenty of mentions as its a well known issue.

I will add that the torx head bolts were also a bad idea as any gunk or rust will have you very slow going and risking rounding them out trying to remove. Give me something a real wrench will fit and leave the torx stuff for the plastics and the low torque stuff.

Interesting..!!

my instructions suggested replacing the nuts with the same ones used on the tupperware..stopped by the auto parts and picked some up clipped them on and all went well. I would suggest they add them to the kit...

Thanks for the info. I think that when the time comes for me to remove that cover I will do the same, but might just rivet the nutplates on.
