There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Plastic bag melted to my exhaust

While riding last week I notice a white plastic bag blow from under the car in front of me and before I could react it went under my spyder. When I got home I saw it had melted to my exhaust connection pipes. It is a real eye sore. Any advise how to remove with out causing any more damage? I heard something about easy off oven cleaner ?!?!

Just pull as much off as you can by hand. Then go for a ride. It will burn off.
I had the same thing happen with my Jeep earlier in the summer. It stinks but won't cause any problems and should burn off pretty quick.

:agree: It should take care of itself...
But I AM curious about the oven cleaner stuff... ;)
I'd heat the pipe up, and then give it a try...

You mean you're supposed to clean your ovens?:dontknow: As my mother would say, the only thing domestic about me is that I live in a house!!!:roflblack:

oven cleaner is very caustic, it could screw something else up.

What model year is your Spyder.
I recall something about a 2013 Spyder and a plastic bag and a Youtube video ?

There was a report of a bag in the vicinity of that burndown...
I don't know if it was the source of the conflagration, or just a convenient scapegoat... :dontknow:

Remove as much as you can then take a paint stripper gun (high temp heat gun), put it on high and go at it. Use a putty knife to scrape off as it softens. It won't take long but you can use a wire wheel on an electric drill to speed it up and to clean the metal afterwards.

You could try the oven cleaner on a VERY small spot that isn't as noticeable...
If it doesn't bugger it up; go for it!

Pressure Wash it?

Hot water will cut through pretty much anything.

I would give it a go, while you are washing your bike anyway.

Have fun, and please send a few pics once you get it all cleaned up.

Oven cleaner to remove plastic? Are you people for real? Geez... It will NOT remove plastic. Where has the common sense gone with people these days. Unbelievable... :yikes:

Seriously, you were given the best advice with the heat-gun (not a hair dryer). It will remove the plastic.
