• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. ok so some of you know i had a limp home mode when i first got my 2012 RS about a week after i got it
come to find out it was 2 burnt out brake bulbs i in stalled the pilot LED bulbs from pep boys well its been about 2 week scene i installed them everything was fine till last Sunday coming home from blessing of the bikes in Fairhaven MA then i get same thing check DPS VSS fault all lights where working running brake i made sure of that so i take the bulbs out and replace them with 1157 i had hanging around went for a ride every thing is fine now the only conclusion i can come to because the bulbs where still working is that the load equalizer failed so i go back to pep boys to get a refund receipt in hand which they need to school there works better the first thing the lady at the counter said did you touch the lights with your hands LOL i tell these are not halogen bulbs they are L.E.D. so now the call there head tech from the shop which this is real scary so i say to there tech they only lasted 2 week he says you know L.E.D's don't last as long as regular bulbs i tell him are you for real do you know what L.E.D stands for he did not have a answer LMAO so i tell him light emitting diode just think this fine chap is working on some one car so i just order ESI rear light upgrade hope they are good for the money

Just replacing with LED's don't work; you'll be good with the ESI. :doorag:

No problem with those pilot led on my spyder for 2 years but there are always going to be deffective products when mass-produced, I guess.

I had the pilot LEDs from pep boys in my fender tips. Went through two sets. Each one only lasted about 2 weeks before burning out. Switched to ones from TricLED, still burning bright 4 months later.

The construction of those rear LEDs from pep boys is crap. Very easy to damage when installing. Sure sounds like the LR failed on them--- strange thing is it would have to fail on both.

No excuse for anyone working at an auto shop to not know about LEDs. Geeeesh!

I used the Pilot 1157 RCZ in the rear for a few months before one lost the running light part so I just put in regular 2357s
every 6 months which are supposed to be more durable than the normal 1157s?:dontknow:

:barf:

That has to suck every 6 months that is what I am trying to avoid like I said hope ESI are good

Why oh why should a Spyder go into limp mode for a blow out bulb(s). I would think limp mode is less safe than blown bulb cause now you have blown bulbs and it's gonna take longer to get home. Makes no freaken sence to me

They Probably would last a Lot Longer BUT, If I have to change a bulb on the road I won,t have my Student Armless Rolling computer chair to sit in while I work on it!:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I would have to agree. A warning to the operator is fine.. but limp mode for burnt out tail lights is overkill.

Please note though that you have to burn BOTH of them out for limp mode to happen.
