Picking up my new RT on Wednesday... They are telling me first service is 1,000 mi. ?

Is this true? I thought it was at 3000, they told me nope its at 1000 and then at 4000. I told them ok, but didn't think they were correct and that I would seek out the correct answers from the source "SPYDERLOVERS.COM"

So what are your thought?

If it is a brand new 2013 or prior, then the break in maintenance is at 600, and then every 5K miles. if it's a 2014, then its break in is at 4600.

Rich, perhaps you should clarify what model year is your new RT.

I believe the book that came with the RT --check your owner's manual when you pick up the roadster

9,300 miles after that.

All up to 2013 had the 600 mile service with oil changes at 3,000 miles later upped to 4,600.
Now RT's 2014 first service is at 3,000 miles
all the rest remain the same fist service at 600 oil at every 4,600 miles...but manual has it.:thumbup:

Scary again to see the dealer not being knowledgeable as to when oil change and regular maintenance services are required.

I am suggesting that it is even more important to read the manual that comes with the :spyder2:.

Another word of advice: Make sure your dealer has the right oil filters before you take it in for the 3000 mile service. Its looking to me like the dealer don't have to much of a clue.

Thanks Spyderman, I actually do not plan on bringing it to that Dealer for service. I have on already in line.... I realized he was wrong based on what I read already on this site, plus I was explaning the cruise, heated grips and other things to the sales guy. "lol" In my mind I only used them for the deal i got. hyea:
