• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pet peeve...engine vs. motor

Electric motors have cases to hold in the smoke. If the smoke gets out the motor is no good and will no longer function. I learned this in "engine"neering class.

Caveat - being a bit of a curmudgeon*, I have some very opinionated ideas, that may, or may not be correct.

Over the years the engine vs motor terminology has caused more than a few holes in my tongue. Short and sweet of it is that I was taught...

--- A motor uses electricity to create motion.

--- An engine is an internal combustion device that uses a fuel source (ie: gasoline or diesel) to create motion.

Hence, there may be 'motor's on a Spyder but, the 998cc Rotax V-twin, internal combustion engine is NOT one of them.

Thanks for the soap box, I will now try to do something productive today.

Look at it another way,a motor is a slave and an engine is a master.A motor has an external power source be it electricity, hydraulic, or air an engine develops its own power
