• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Before my radio antenna fell off :D the elastic holding the toolkit broke :D. Stumbled on a perfect replacement in the water heater section of the big orange store that sponsor's the #20 car. It measures 3.5" and there are two in a pack for a couple of bucks. Been on for about two months and no sign of deterioration yet.

I suspect this is a universal pair of events. I replaced the antenna, but hadn't given any thought to the toolkit mounting. Guess I'm off to the store...

Thanks!

Thanks for the info. Mine broke also and I've been carrying it in the rrunk. Would never have thought of looking for it in the water heater section.

Buy a Corbin seat and you won't have to worry about mounting it under the seat... there isn't a space for it! :cus:

Mine broke, and I left the tool pouch lay where it fell. It doesn't go anywhere, or get in the way.

I don't think I had mine for a month when the straps broke. I started wondering about the rest of the parts! Just left it there. Maybe during the 6 weeks the dealer has had my Spyder for the clutch recall.... they will just fix it out of the goodness of their heart. Nah, wasn't on the work order.:sour:

Clueless and MarkLawson

GE Carbon Filter O-ring
Model # UCRING
Store SKU # 192015
$2.48/EA-Each

From the HD website. The rings are used in home water filtration systems. Location from store to store may vary, I guess. Customer service can pinpoint the correct aisle using the SKU.

I am just trying to find the item so i can upgrade and now worry down the road about the tool kit strap :chill:
If you do not like reading about the thread (don't read it) ;)

back on topic. yes I FOUND it. $2.48 I think. its in the far far back of the store behind the custom kitchens section in the middle area of HOME DEPOT.

the last row there is a tiny section call APPLIANCE parts. there are water filter stuff for under the kitchen sink stuff... and I almost missed it but there hanging on those multi-holders between shelves vertical, they were clipped to them... came 2 to a packet

thanks to the OP for posting :)

Didn't say a word about the thread, just let the tool kit lie!

Mine has been broken for at least a couple of months. I just left it where it fell, it seems secure enough.
When I had the DPS replaced, the dealer replaced the strap, but I think it will just break again.
When I was investigating the GPS installation, I looked at the video on this site. Funny, even the spyder in teh video had a broken strap.

Did you get a toolkit with the RT? I was told one was not available. Thanks, Carolyn
all RTs should have a toolkit. Look under the seat, on the right rear bottom of the seat (unless your strap broke). If it is not there, your dealer owes you one...part #704700137.
