There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Penalized !! For owning a Spyder !!

I have had my Spyder insured by Foremost for four years. The premium is reasonable and there are no special terms (i.e. different than my other two wheelers which are also on the policy) attached to it. I live in Virginia.

Alan.

Have had Foremost for almost three years on my RT.

Insurance

Hell, I've got everything with Allstate, House, 2 cars, 2 Harley's and 1 Spyder. I originally had Nationwide for everything, but when I got the Spyder I shopped around and Allstate was the cheapest with great coverage. Nationwide couldn't come close to the price and I'd been with them for over 30 years.:doorag:

Do you also have an Umbrella policy ?

The lead -in :-
I currently have the auto's and home insured with The Hartford, through AARP -- attached is an umbrella policy.
Spyder insured with Geico.

I get an e-mail from The Hartford saying "we now insure motorcycles" -- cool ! I was waiting to consolidate ALL vehicles.

After a lengthy talk with the Hartford agent (who are using Foremost for the motorcycles insurance) I was informed that they will NOT insure anything with 3 wheels, only 2 wheel motorcycles and 4 wheel cars. !!

And now they know I own a motorcycle, I am putting my Umbrella Policy in jeopardy -- WTF !!

:)

Long story short, I had Geico insurance and when I got the Spyder, the policy cost was absurdly high. I have progressive. Very reasonable.
I have my cars and boat on Progressive also.

GEICO here

No problem here with Geico other than the premium for the Spyder is quite a chunk of change higher than my other (2 wheel) motorcycles.

The wife and I are at $530/yr with full coverage in Virginia. Seems a bit steep, but I've had to call a tow truck a couple times on my old pickup and the GEICO App works awesome, never a problem.

Yeah $571 here in NJ.
For comparison, My Bonneville is $400, my Vespa 250 $145, my Buddy 125 $65. All are 12 month, full coverage.

Well....

I have state farm with...3 cars, spyder, home , earthquake, and umbrella but shopping is the way to go cause it is different if you cross the street...

Both our Spyders are insured by Foremost. And, for the same coverage, Foremost was roughly 40 percent less than what USAA would charge - and I've been with them for 50 years!

Allstate here: House, cars, motorcycles (including Spyder), and umbrella. Spyder added 8 weeks ago at <$200/year. All very reasonable.

Allstate, here in Ohio. Cars, home, Spyder and umbrella. The Spyder is about $350 per year and they have always been good to cover us, even when I had my golf cart.

At first I thought that it was the AARP folks but Dave dispelled that for you. Personally, I dwould NEVER buy anything through AARP unless it was a last resort, but that is just me.

Joe

:banghead: ALMOST nobody is getting the point... :banghead:
By packaging your policies with one company: you will often get extra discounts.
I know that Safeco writes on the Left Coast: I've seen their policies.
Allstate is probably worth investigating also.
It's going to take some legwork: call your Agent, and explain the circumstances...
Good Luck! :D

Thanks Bob. :)
I contacted Safeco already - their quote was $1000 more per year than Hartford/AARP :sour:

The shopping continues. NOT -- my favorite thing to do !! I should look for a local agent really, and have them do the shopping.

I'm glad you said often and not always. I have my HO policy with Grange. Not sure if I have an umbrella add-on or not. My vehicles are all with Geico. Both of them are the lowest cost individually, and when added together are still lower than what the agent could find in a package price for me.

Currently, an umbrella policy with Farmer's insurance. No issues. State Farm before that. No issues. I see that you're looking to dump The Hartford and go shopping. They may have done you a BIG favor.

What a ludicrous policy! The Spyder is inherently safer than any 2 wheel vehicle that they do insure.

Ignorance is NOT ALWAYS Bliss!

You should definitely shop all the policies around. We have all our cars, a HD and my Spyder with Farmers. They use Formost for the bikes.

Good thing you dumped The Hartford! I manage a towing company and The Hartford is the absolute hardest to deal with for their customers. I have seen them go to ridiculous lengths to get out of paying to repair their customer's cars. It is so bad that body shops will not do anything for The Hartford without payment up front.
Also one of their policy holders ran a red light and hit my wife. The at fault person was cited by the police and the Hartford tried to tell us we were at fault. They stated that it was just the officer's opinion as to what happened. My insurance (State Farm) had to pay for our vehicle and then sue The Hartford. It all worked out and The Hartford had to pay but it took years to get it done.

Hartford is a big, well-established Company; they offer lots of products...
But if it doesn't fit into their plans: you might as well look elsewhere! :banghead:

And the AARP program is even worse!

I'm now finding that out !! ^^^

Have got quotes so far from State Farm,Allstate and Safeco (fun times ;)) but they range in price from $500 to $1000 more annually that what I have !! The search continues --
