• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

PE #0474

ARtraveler

R.I.P. Dwayne
I picked up PE #474 today and said a sad farewell to my 2008 RS. My initial reaction is that I really like the ride. I put 37 miles on it today just to check it out--but will probably use a tankful of gas tomorrow. It seemed a little mushier (suspension wise) than the 08--but Ill play with the suspension settings tomorrow. I took it on some winding and hilly terrain and it did not seem to handle any worse than what Ive been used to on the other bike. Ill write more after a thousand miles or so.

Update on #474

Update of #474. I have now put 250 miles on the bike in the last two days. My riding impressions of the RT compared to RS are as follows.
Ride is more cushy on the RT. Handling is about the same as I am used to. I find that if I put to much input on the bars in a turn, it feels mushy. Less handlebar input seems to be better. I definatly like the amenities--the cruise and heated grips for sure. I have had the bike on winding hilly roads, driven in in-town traffic, and had it out on the highway at speeds up to 70 for a short time. I got 28 miles per gallon on my first tank. I did not push the envelope on speed at this time--most shifts between 4000 and 4500. The RT is definately geared different. The bike seems a little sluggish and a bit less responsive that my 2008--but that may change as I get more miles and get more accustomed to the bike. I notice a delay effect when cranking the throttle--but we'll see on that also. Overall I like the bike a lot and have no buyers remorse. The weather today was 40 degrees and occasional snowflakes--but they are melting as they hit the road. I rode 150 miles without getting off the bike--and did not feel sore or uncomfortable. I had all the road to myself today. Did not see one single motorcycle of any flavor in the 150 miles (lots of cars though).

Glad you are enjoying the RT-S. Remeber you are in break-in time for the motor and should spend an equal amount of miles above 5 or 6000 rpm. That is the power curve area of the motor and it needs to be broken in during the first 600 miles to do it right.

Ride safe!!

Thanks for the info on the power curve. I figured I would get about 300 miles on it and then start easing it up a bit.
