• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Passenger heated grips too low - is this normal?

I have a 2015 RtL. The heat in the passenger grips is so low my wife doesn't believe it works at all. We have tried it at both settings. The front grips heat up fast and hot. Is this normal or do I need to make another trip to the dealer?

The heat to the passenger grips has always been less, than what you get up front...
...But they've made noticeable improvements with the newer bikes.
With a bare hand; can you feel them heating up? :dontknow:
How cold is it where you're riding? When we're putting some heat to the grips; it's normally in the 30s or 40s, so it's easy to notice the difference...

Are you turning them on at the rear grip position? They are not activated from the Rider rocker switch.

Also, the passenger must be sitting on the seat (rear) to activate. If this still does not work check the back of the switch to see if it is fully

plugged in. This is sometimes left unplugged or fully pushed in.

Good info. Thanks for the ideas. I'm in St Pete, Fl so we don't often have cold weather but it is 52 right now and that's cool for us. The fornt grips work well, but I have honestly not needed them so far. I'll check again.

I live in Florida as well.. The rear heated grips work fine on my wife's 2014 RT Limited and we have ridden down into high 30s.. In contrast a friend thought his were not working right and a stop to the dealership verified that indeed they were not.. Now they are fixed and he is happy with his as well

Passenger Handgrips

Hi Can anyone tell me about heated passenger handgrips. I have a 2014 RT standard, not s or ltd, just basic. are the passenger hand grip heater control buttons fitted even if the hand grip heaters are not fitted. I have the buttons on the handgrips but does that mean the handgrips are heated?

Thanks

Alex

What Jack said above could actually be a very dangerous situation. If the passenger seat switch is not working, your braking will also be affected. The weight of a passenger will cause the brake proportioning to change, but only through that switch being "made".

No, the buttons for the heated passenger grips are on the other side of the bike from where the passenger radio controls are (those are the buttons your referring to i would have to assume) so you just have a blank spot there since you have a base model, mine is the same.

heated passenger handgrips

No this is not the case, I have the heated grip buttons aswell as the radio buttons and you can hear them click when you push them, can I therefore assume the last owner had them fitted? as you say you have a blank disc where the buttons should be.

Thanks, Alex
