There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Passenger Back Seat Rest??

Hello,

For those of you RS/RSS owners. If you have a Passenger Back Seat Rest. Do you like it?? is it worth the $700 :dontknow:??
I'm pondering on this and not sure what to do. I mostly ryde by myself and use the back seat bag (that I love!!). But to use this just take someone a few times or less for a short ryde?? I have been seated in the passenger while hubby rydes on short rydes and it does feels different. I know you have to place the sports rack and then the seat rest. The sports rack doesn't look appealing to me by itself. Love the sleek look of it as it is now.

Would like to hear from you!

Leira

Like most things, it's trial and error and hindsight is 20/20. I have the backrest, but would go a different way if I could do it all over again. I did not like the stock seat, so I bought a BRP comfort seat. Knowing what I know now, I would have bought the Corbin seat with the backrest and would have been money ahead.

I am satisfied with the backrest, though.

When I had my GS, for a few dollars more, I got the corbin seat, a driver and passenger back rest off of ebay. I loved the look and it was comfy.

I took the seat off when I traded it in, and sold it to a fellow spyder lover.....

Backrest

It is a safety issue, I would not let anyone ride on the rear without a backrest, our BMW has the nice padded trunk that works a lot better but I have yet to find one accessory on the Spyder that works as well as the BMW accessories.....the only problem....the BMW will fall over...we are stuck with Can Am's Good Luck

Backrest

My wife did not like ryding with me on the spyder, and said no way to going on the freeway because she did not like the sense that she would fall off the back. I put on the sport rack and back rest, and now she feels so much safer. To the point that she will let me take her on the freeway when it gets warm (won't ryde when it is cold). I too do not like the look of the sport rack, but like ryding with my wife.

Hi Leira,

Yes, they are worth the price and realy well made. I have the same year and color as your RS-S. I got mine in July 2011 on E-Bay for $547.98 and free shipping and installed it myself. My wife likes it alot and we put 1000's of miles on it.

bought my sportrack/backrest used from this forum, my wife LOVES it! she won't ride without one now...

I wanted a backrest but didn't like the price of the BRP setup. So, I bought a RoadChrome backrest. It's even got a little luggage rack on the back of it. Works and looks fine. Sorry no pictures. I'm not very good with a camera. But, very good quality and much less than the BRP. One thing though, you cannot remove it without tools. So, once it's on, it's staying there.

This is the link to the backrest I have. We have liked it. You need all three components to have the base, backrest and luggage rack. But, it's still a decent price.

Thank you all so much!!

Reality is that I'm the one who seats on the back from time to time. Other than that someone that might want to ryde with me around the neighborhood. I ryde with hubby all the time. He has the RT with trailer me or him would seat on the back when we go to the dealer or run an close by. We usually go on his RT so I seat in the back. But it does feel different being on the back of the RS with no back rest. I'm in no hurry as other things are coming up with the holidays. But if I see a better deal in the future I'll think about it.

Thanks!!!
