• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We purchased our 2014 Spyder RT-S in July. Now my wife would like to consider having arm rests for her comfort while riding passenger with me. I would like to purchase and install a good set of arm rests, but don't want to have to drill any holes anywhere on the bike. Can anyone recommend any arm rests that would be of good quality, and meet my 'no holes' rule? Anyone near South Central Pennsylvania who has arm rests installed that my wife and I could take a look at? Thanks in advance!!!

I am in Baltimore county and I installed the Corbin armrests on my RT. My girlfriend loves them! We ride up to Hanover, PA a decent amount so if you want to meet PM me.

Passenger armrests for RT

I have a 2012 RT-S and have the Diamond R armrests on my Spyder and my
wife loves them. They are easy to install. (Less than 30 minutes). They are
adjustable and they swing out of the way for easy mount and dismount.
No holes to be drilled. They use existing bolts under the seat. I live in
Philadelphia and would be glad to show you my armrests if your in the area.

No doubt about it. Diamond-R armrests. Be sure to get them with the cup and cupholder. The cup itself is awesome. Best investment I've made for my :spyder2:.

:agree: I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Diamond R armrest use existing bolt holes in the spyder to install the mounting bracket.
much easier install than some..... only issue is they are not load bearing and care is needed getting on and off the bike to not bend them

I'm in SE Pa. and have a 2014 RT I have Corbin armrests installed, my wife loves them. She had tried lots of others but decided on the Corbins. My bike is available for your wife to sit on if she wants to try some out, let me know. They seem to be more of a solid mount and not as flimsy as some of the others she tried. 0992

:2thumbs: For the Diamond R Armrests! No additional holes needed. They fold in when not in use. You can get them with a cup holder and/or a small pouch. Look at their website, they're a sponsor here. Owners Allen and Patti are great people. Top notch customer service!!
 
Everyone, thanks for your input! We are visiting a Spyder owner on Saturday to look at his Corbin arm rests. My one concern is one that was voiced above, that is that the hand grips are hard to reach with the Corbin's installed. Many great comments on the Diamond R's. My wife prefers the looks of the Corbin, but after she sits on the bike and tries them, maybe she'll feel differently. The other thing about the Corbin's is that they appear to be much more difficult to install. Thanks again for the input! That is what makes this site/forum so valuable!!

I have the Corbin Armrest/cupholder with a Ultimate Seat. My wife tried the Diamond R, Rivco and Showchrome Armrest at Spyderfest and like the Corbin the best. She like the height, comfort position and the looks of the Corbins. The handgrips may be a little harder to reach but she said she can live with that.

They may cost the most but that's what she wanted since she sits back there. If she's happy and comfortable then I am happy and we can go for longer rides together.
 
I'll add my two cents. My wife loves her Corbin armrests. Bottom line is that if you have a passenger ride a lot of the time with you, armrests are a must in my opinion.

My issue with all but the Corbins is that they do nothing to hold the passenger from sliding sidewards. This would be my main reason for buying them; that they offer some lateral support.
