• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Parking lot question.. spyder's weight and activating the gate arm...

To activate the gate arm to rise, I swipe my badge. To exit the parking lot, what activates the gate arm? I don't see a loop embedded in the asphalt like the ones to activate a stop light. I'm having a little catch 22 situation where I work.

Every place is different, some have size rated motion sensors(if object is not big enough, it dont see it) & some have multiple type that require all to activate before gate will move. Some skip the sensors & just rely on card/badge swipe approval. The weight sensors are usually spread bigger than a spyder footprint & not much you can do there. More than likely your work will simply ask you to not ride spyder to work... Sorry cant offer much one place I worked at finally (after i didnt work there anymore) got a security guard at the gate took therm some time & damages before they when that route. Good luck

I wasn't there but I still care! POW /MIA VETS

Well....

:agree: ask them what system is used. You may have to call the maugacturer or installer. Some are magnetic, weight, visual or a combination. Are you not tripping the system and get stuck in there...?? or just don't want to chance it...?? Most parking lots are pretty good not so much traffic lights.....:banghead:

Since 2009 I was able to park in the parking garage b/c the gate was cut enough for me to get by. Earlier this year they replaced that gate arm, and it wasn't cut enough for me to get by. I talked to the manager of the dept. that has responsibility to cut the gate(s). His stance is that the garage motorcycle parking is for 2 wheels, and referred me to the person who has responsibility for all parking at the hospitals. I sent her an e-mail b/c I want it in writing, what I said and her response. I said I was okay parking in an open lot rather than the garage; but, I was told previously there may be a problem with the gate opening when I'm leaving b/c there is no card swipe. I also said that there is one lot where I can bypass the gate when leaving. What I'm suspecting is they will look for that area where I can bypass the gate, and block it like they have the other points where the gates could be bypassed.

Before my next weekend when I work, I'll try a dry run to see if the gate will sense the spyder when leaving the parking lot.

Well I wouldn't stand for that answer, seems like you are getting profiled ............................

You should block the entrance and throw rocks and bottles chanting..................."ALL MOTORCYCLES MATTER" :coffee:

What if you had a big hammer with your, and "nudged the arm a little bit with it? :dontknow:
Can they fire you, for wanting to go home after work? nojoke
Call the head of Maintenance, and let that person know that your next call, is to the Board of Directors.
Good luck!
