• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

parking break

any one hear of a recall ?

We just found out about the recall when we took my spyder in for it's 6000 k check. It turns out our service manager at our dealership had already ordered the new brake parts for my husband's and my spyder. I think that is some pretty good service.

The recall was posted here and on SpyderTalk by a member of the forums who is the service manager for a BRP dealer. I didn't hear about it from the dealer but I brought it up to them when we went to the Michigan Owners Event and again when we dropped dltang's Spyder off for the 6k service.

My understanding is that it is not a recall, but was issued as a service advisory.

:agree:
That is what I understood to be the case as well, Scotty. A recall would apply to all of a series of vehicles. In this case, BRP maintains that only some Spyders have this problem, and the advisory is intended to correct only those that do.

yeah..they claim mine doesnt....but try to get the brake disengaged without having to do it 4 or 5 times...i imagine it will eventually be a recall and not just an advisory, i hope....so far this is my only beef with the bike

...take it in! I had my bike in 2 other times for warranty work that included adjusting the brake. I had the opportunity to drive the new SE5 Big Red yesterday and one of the things I noticed was a very different feel to the parking brake.

Sticking parking brake

I picked up my SE5 Spyder a week ago and the dealer told me they noticed the parking brake was sticking so they had already ordered the part to fix it from BRP. It is supposed to be in this week or the first of next. They showed me how to manually release it until then.

Good service I think.

I was told this is a recal especially for the SE5's that require the use of the parking break. My dealer told me they are expecting the kits in any day now.
