Yepper... at the rear wheel caliper... right side.
Adjust the cable only with the adjusters... just like throttle cables.
If more is needed, remove the parking brake arm (where the cable attaches) and move it a bit. The shaft it's mounted on is splined.
.
Probably not messed up, just worn a bit and cable stretched some. You likely have a great amount of park brake pedal travel, too. If so, it's time to adjust. Parking brake should be set in one or two clicks.Im going to try to adjust it tomorrow. I cant even park on a hill right now, something seems really messed up.

Good question above...will the thing keep loosening and always need to be tightened?
Yes, it needs to be adjusted as the rear brake pads wear.:f_spider:Good question above...will the thing keep loosening and always need to be tightened?
Squirt some WD40 in the mechanism....that should free it up.Mine has got to where it don't want to release for a week or so now, today I had to reach down and release the catch with my finger. Will adjustment fix this problem or is it a problem with grit or dirt, I did adjust it a little last weekend and it didn't help any.

:agree: WD-40 works nicely, as do the Teflon sprays. BTW, if you have one of the earlier Spyders, the sticking parking brake may be eligible for replacement parts under warranty. Your dealer can look up your model ID and serial number in the service bulletin to check. Had ours replaced and haven't had to lube it since.Squirt some WD40 in the mechanism....that should free it up.
I also carry an inclined door stopper from Walleyworld. 98 cents, only problem, I forget to retreave them and have lost 2 already! Will get a string put on it when I get to Hazelton, PA at friend's house.
As (1) the cable stretches and (2) the rear brake pads wear, adjustments will be necessary.
Being careful to depress the parking brake only the amount actually needed also helps, once adjusted.

If I really push down on it, the bike doesn't go anywhere, even if I try to push it...
However, if I don't apply it enough, the bike will not hold...this happened at the gas station the other day...put the emergency brake down, turned to scan my credit card, grabbed the pump handle, turned around...and, guess what?? no bike...
It had rolled about 15 feet down the slight incline...I was able to get it, start it, and reverse it back up to the pump, but the incident was a bit embarrassing.
This is why I use the steering lock in conjunction with the emergency brake...figure two defenses is better than one!
Ordinarily though, the emergency brake holds just fine...just have to really lock it in...
