• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Parking brake on 2018 RT Limited not releasing

Had to remove the spring at the Rear Caliper Bracket and loosen the 12mm nuts that adjust the tension on the cable so I could slide the cable out of the bracket. I had heard that these adjustments were set too tight at the factory on some, and I believe this was definitely one of them.

My first question is: what and how much plastic do I have to remove to get to the Actuator Pulley?

My next question is: would it be a good idea to attach a small ziptie to the pulley near the connection to capture the cable from possibly coming out of pulley groove, if for some unknown reason it got too much slack?

Thanks for your help/comments - slim

Why do you "believe" the parking brake on your Spyder was adjusted too tight at the factory? Do you have the service manual that contains the adjustment specifications and procedure? You must remove the right mirror, side panel, top side panel and rear side panel (pg. 39 of your operator's guide). If your brake cable is correctly adjusted you do NOT need to zip tie anything because the cable will not come off the pulley. Unless your Spyder is out of warranty your first stop should be a dealership. .

I dont have service manual does anyone know the procedure for properly adjusting park brake on 2018 rt limited THANKS

Not rocket science; you should JUST be able to move the cable end loop that's connected to the brake lever from side to side. If you can't, it's too tight. If sloppy, too loose.

I have a .pdf file of the parking brake cable adjustment procedure for a 2014 RT that I believe is the same as for a 2018 but it exceeds the file size to upload it here. Send me a PM with you regular email address and I'll send it to you.
