• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Parking brake issue...

First Timer

Has anyone ever had this type of issue with your parking brake. I have a 2016 RT Limited. Two weeks ago I had this issue for the first time. The parking brake with the semi-auto has to be set before turning off or the buzzer will sound until you set the parking brake. Mu issue is, I set my brake when turning off but the buzzer sounds anyway. I've checked several times. You can turn back on and off, the parking light stays on and the buzzer sounds. the light stays on when the ignition is turn back.
The only way I've found to solve this problem is to disconnect the battery terminal. After you disconnect and reconnect that seems to resolve the issue, at least for a day or so. The first time I had this problem was around 8 days ago on a Sunday. When I got home I disconnected the battery so it would not frain. Called the dealer to set a appointment the next day. That morning when I reconnected the battery the issue went away, that was until today. Lucky when it happen today I was in town and drove right to the dealer to show him the problem. His answer, huh! Have a appointment set for Thursday. Doesn't sound like to me that he has a clue. I don't have a lot of faith in this dealer but, he's the dealer close to me.
My question is, has anyone ever experience this problem or heard of it as to where I can give this dealer some kind of information to start. I think it's some kind of electrical disconnect of some kind causing a misread read on whether or not the parking brake is set when it is.

Any information of help would be great!
Thanks.....

You have a new Spyder under warranty. Tell your dealer what you've done and tell them you want a loaner until they fix the problem.

Warranty!
can you move the bike? Sure fire way to see it the brake is actually on, the alarm could be a switch fault not sensing brake control in proper position. There is a cam wheel that pulls cable, the dealer knows where to look & should have inspected before you left. The cable can have other problems. Disconnecting the battery every time is going to wear your terminals in bad way:lecturef_smilie: Quickly then you will have bigger problems. The beeping should only last for 1 minute. & go quiet after that fyi(is just an alert that you have not properly parked)

Yes, the brake does set and release correctly. It's just the buzzer that seems to never go off, along with the light in the dash.
Yes, warranty work. Will have to see what they find out, hopefully they will figure it out.
Thanks for your replies...

Had the Spyder in today for the brake issue. Turns out the parking brake activation sensor is bad. Ordered a new one takes 5 days for it to come in, covered under warranty.
