Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Paper dropped in the Fuel tank

I have never done this before; however, I would like to know what would happen when a piece a card board paper (Bottle cap cover for the bottle cap) was accidentally dropped in the fuel tank? What should I do if I did this? How will it affect the engine?

And, I would like to know how to upload images...for your view.

might try using some sort of suction pump ? you might get lucky , and see the paper come up ... { not sure , but I would guess there is a filter in the tank ? } if this will not work call in the marines ! ;)

In most tanks that will not cause an issue. The pick-up is a mesh that is much larger than that.

Well....

One could try to fish it out..carefully :lecturef_smilie: there is other stuff in there you don't want to mess up. Could affect your fuel readings...I wouldn't worry...

If you can see it in there thru the filler cap hole, maybe a thin placcy tube will help you extract it?! Get an open end of the tube into the tank & onto the cardboard, then suck on the outboard end just a little before you seal that end off with your finger or whatever; that should leave the cardboard held onto the end in the tank by suction until you can carefully guide/manoeuvre it out, just so long as you don't crack the seal on the outboard end while you're doing it!!

Oh, & don't suck so hard that you get a lungful of gas, it really doesn't taste nice or do too much that's good for your lungs.

But I'm with the others in respectfully asking HOW? WHY? WTF?!?

PAPER IN GAS

Eventually it will break down and dissolve ...... but it will take quite awhile to do so ..... and besides the large DEBRIS screen ..... the micron filter should prevent any issue with the engine ..... However I would change the MICRON filter after about one month from now as long as you are running the engine frequently, because the filter is going to fill up with contaminates .......jmho ..... Mike

Thank you everyone, I appreciate that.

You still have not answered the WHY?!

I try & guess, you described the cardboard paper from inside a cap, the guess is: A cap of additive or fuel treatment maybe stuck to the bottle as you poured in gas tank.

The fuel system has a screen in tank for larger debris & sediment & a finer filter inline before it can reach your engine. So you are safe there.

Yes, sorry about that. Exactly what you said. Thank you...I was really sweating there.
