• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Panel O-Rings

Washers

Benefit: primarily to protect the plastic... both panels and windshield. The very thin plastic washers from BRP tend to disappear over time.

I never did it but... the theory of putting them on the back of the panels... to hold the screws to the panels so you don't lose them... would work as well.

The screws will clear the stainless washer easily... the rubber backing is smaller in diameter and will cause the washer to stay with the screw.

.

I just ordered 100 of them---always good to have those kind of washers around.

Placement of o-rings

The o-rings must be a tight fit on the screw. Place the screw through the panel, now slide the ring over the the threads of the screw. Next, line up the holes an tighten the screws. The o-ring will keep the screw from falling out upon removal and assembly. Sorry no pics, I have not mastered that task!

Just ordered the neoprene backed stainless... I guess I'll have plenty left over eh? Also ordered plastic only for kicks.

I just picked up a box of 25 of the plastic rivets. (those two piece fastners that push in) I only lost one part of one, but could not find just a couple in the right size.

We should set up a network of who has a bulk supply of small easy to mail spare parts. Things like these washers, rivets, the copper washers for oil changes, etc. We could swap out or split up extras. i.e. the rivets are about 50 cents each, the washers are about 13 cents each. I send you 4 rivets, you send me 15 washers. Then we both have an assortment, but no too many of one thing.

Where do yo find those rivets? I'm always worried about losing those.

They also wear-out easily. I purchased a dozen from dealer for $.70 each but I am sure you could do better.

My stainless washers with neoprene backing ($17.32 total for 100) came today and work great.

That is just the company site. I went to a branch and handed the guy one. He measured it and ordered me a box of 25. I have more than I need. I want to keep 10-15. If you want 5-10, I paid about 50 cents a piece. I would like trade for some of those washers so I don't end up with more than I need of those.
