There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Pandora and Sena SM10 Bluetooth troubles

I have a Spyder RT Limited. Just installed the SM10 Bluetooth and getting everything from the bike through the Sena 10S headset (phone/radio/gps). I have Pandora but it will only play through my headset once I turn the SM10 OFF... am I missing something? Please help! Thanks in advance.

No you are not missing something.

Your phone is paired to your headset and a hands free profile (for phone calls etc) AND a media streaming device (Music).
The SM10 is also paired as a media streaming device.
You cannot have 2 media streaming devices at the same time.

If you wanted to resolve this, you would need to hook your phone to the iPod cable in the trunk which would then make the Pandora music (or any music your phone would play) come out the SM10 (or speakers).

Thanks for the response Bob
So I'm clear, if I connect my phone in the truck, are you suggestion that I do it via the headphone jack into the SM10 OR get a cable to allow me to go lightening into the port in the trunk?
If it's the latter, where can I get that cable and how would I select that source?
I keep my phone in the trunk anyway...

Bob - Good questions from Tubbsce but what about the folks who keep there phones on the handle bars? How can this be accomplished?

If your phone is an iPhone, you would use the iPod cable that came with your Limited edition. Then you can control it with the multi-function control next to the left hand grip.

That depends on the headset model you have. The new "S" series (like the 10S and 20S) will allow you to actually pair two phones to the headset. You can substitute the SM10 dongle for one of the phones. (You should pair the phone first.) The BT settings in most newer phones allow you to keep the phone protocol (HFP) active while disabling the music protocol (A2DP) BT connection. You simply turn off the "music" connection with the headset in your phone's BT settings. If you do that the SM10 dongle then automatically becomes active for music, and you can still use your phone in hands free mode. If you later switch the "music" connection back on, the phone music source will automatically override the SM10 dongle. This works with either Apple or Android phones. So now you can actually choose the music source (phone or BT dongle) by simply toggling that BT phone setting back and forth.

Sidenote... This worked "sometimes" with the older SMH10 headset (if you used multi-point pairing mode), but the music override feature was not as sophisticated as it is now with the new "S" series. You would often loose the A2DP connection if you tried to switch it, which means that you would then have to get off the bike and go back to the trunk (if that's where your SM10 was) and reset it. Switching sources in the manner I just described above works flawlessly on the newer headsets.

Thanks Bob -

I haven't tried this yet but after talking with MotorCycle Dave, I like his suggestion of having my music play from my iphone 6 instead of my ipod 5. If I pair my iphone to the 20s and then the 20s to the SM10, would I have any issue with Pandora, Zumo 660LM GPS turn-by-turn or Waze?

You shouldn't have issues. If you used the method you just described, you will also hear the Zumo route directions through the SM10 BT dongle and they will override the music (but a phone call takes priority over both). I suppose you might be able to also use the Waze site on your phone - I've never tried that.
