• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Painting question

Since it's winter, I am planning to do a bit of painting on my 2014 RT. Since I have a base without the fog lights (and those, at $500, will never be on my bike), I was thinking of painting the air scoops by the frunk white to match the rest of the bike - any thoughts? I would probably match all the front plastic around the windshield too...

I like the idea of monochromatic on the white. think it would be sharp looking!!:2thumbs: it's your spyder thou, so you have to like it yourself!!

I've seen some nice custom jobs on some of the RT pics - and wanted to raise the conversation.. the "S" & "LTD" have the shiny chromish lights, I have a set of black scoops.... perhaps just those need painting...

THIS PAINT WORKS

:agree:....Yo Dragon, If you caught SpyderTV's video of my Basic RT you will see my DASH surround which I painted in Toyota White Pearl.( made by DUPLI-COLOR EXACT MATCH ).........I would advise priming with a light plastic paint primer first.............The white Pearl is translucent and does not cover well so changing from black to white is going to be very difficult..................Good Luck..........Mike

Here's the thing..!!

The color not only changes the look but there is a shape effect as well. It is paint and can always be changed back but I like to load up a picture to an art program and play with colors there to avoid the expense.. 20130111_121831.jpg painted silver 20140910_103601.jpg now black again...pictures when your done..before and after...

The folks at CowTown used to paint those covers to match the bike; perhaps you can find some of their handywork around...
Try giving Len at PitBull a call; he was there at the time...

The lights are a bit cheaper now. I have come across a set on amazon for $320. I actually was able to get mine from the dealer for $390. Painting was an option that I looked into as well. I have the black, so the color matched pretty well.
