There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Packing while riding...

I carry concealed often while riding. On the Spyder, does the glove box get too hot for concealed weapon in it? Haven't been on any long trips on my 2013 RT Limited yet, so was wondering.

Our glove box gets real hot. I dont think it would be a good location to keep it. IMO

I have a 2011 RTS and have carried my LCP 380 which fits perfectly in the zip case that comes with it. Since BRP insulates the later RTs with foam, it is not hot when carried there. But don't carry your butterfingers there. If your ammo is ready to deploy at 150...,I don't want to be near you. :lecturef_smilie: Just sayin'.

Carry my s&w 380 in the glove box all the time. nNo prob. & easy to get to, also legal if not on your person in Ohio.----Budro

Short answer, no. It's going to take a lot more heat than what's transferred to the glove box to cook off a round.

The heat is not my issue. I don't like where it the pistol points when in the glove box. I am currently working on making a holster for the frunk / trunk and the left saddle bag. If not on me that is one of 3 locations I have it.

If its not on your person or within reach where you can grab it in less than 2 seconds then you are transporting your weapon, not "packing" it.

I'm not trying to be a wise ass, I just want everyone to realize that in the frunk or a side bag is too far to be useful in an emergency which is why you are carrying in the first place, right?

When I carry mine it is on my body, either in my vest pocket on in a shoulder holster. I am looking at a dash pouch that is sold that would fit my 380 and maybe my glock 29sf 10mm.

I do agree. On long rides it can be nice to "transport" from time to time.

:agree::agree::agree: :agree::agree:  Try an ankle holster on the outside of your calf perhaps. My .45 is hauled around in a Galco S.O.B. (Small Of the Back), rig that I forget is even there...

the glovebox is a toaster oven....

as others have said, carry it on you, OR, if you have a backrest, you could always put it behind there

Since my riding jacket 'has shrunk' in the last year, I find myself carrying my Sig P232 on my side since my Glock 23 won't fit.
Sometimes I also transport my pistol(s).

SC does not have a reciprocity agreement with Ga. NC does with both SC and Ga. The point though if you carry concealed the weapon must be under your control. If you left it on the bike and needed it why bother carrying? Remember when seconds count the police are minutes alway!
