• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Getting P1120 and P2620 codes about once a month. I have cleaned the Throttle Body and replaced the MAP hoses with silicon hoses. I needed a new battery, so I installed one.

I've researched these codes and read about the various solutions everyone has tried; from cleaning to replacing the Throttle Body. Has anyone come up with the definitive cure for this ailment?

I do all my own work and have a BUDS system on order as we speak. If I thought it would help, I would be willing to perform a ceremony involving a paper bag, a dead chicken, and some whisky. :-)

My Spyder is a 2011 RT-S with 12,000 miles.

I do not remember if this has been covered in previous posts.

Just in case: The 2011 RT's did have a known issue with throttle bodies. They were supposed to be fixed by the dealer prior to sale or fixed if customers brought them in for the fix.

We purchased our 2011 RT new from the dealer in 2012. The TB work was performed before we drove it out the door. Almost 25,000 miles and showing no issues so far.

For starters the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) needs to be reset. That can only be done using BUDS. If that has been done and you just did not mention it. Then the TPS needs to replaced and reset.

Thank you. My BUDS system should be here in a few days. I'll do some testing and most likely a reset then.

Do not forget to do this part it's very important : I do all my own work and have a BUDS system on order as we speak. If I thought it would help, I would be willing to perform a ceremony involving a paper bag, a dead chicken, and some whisky. :-)

Me too

I get the same limp mode and same codes at 60K miles. Oh, on second TB. Going in tomorrow to chart a definite course for fixing Pyder. Supposedly, BRP has suggested the ECU, Harness and TB. I really don't want to start over with another Spyder, I just want mine fixed. More when I know more, Oh, according to mechanic, TPS reset made no difference, and according to him and BRP the TPS does not need to be replaced. Time and $$$$ will tell.

I've read about your previous experience with these codes and what was done about it, that's why I was asking if anyone found the root cause of the recurring problem. We don't live too far apart. When I get the BUDS system and use it for awhile, maybe we can get together and compare the readings from both bikes and see if there is something common. I'm sort of a High Tech Redneck and really get into this kind of trouble shooting.:pray::pray:

Check the Manual......

That's the problem, check the manual. Its supposed to be a plastic bag, dead chicken and some wine.

In all seriousity, I hope you find and fix the problem. The weather is getting to good to be under repair......
