There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Ovreheated - Went into Limp Mode

That Rotax enigne should be able to take the heat pretty well; they're a tough setup and can stand up to some abuse... I wouldn't worry about the enigne so much as I would getting the electricals all sorted out.

Thanks for your efforts in getting me the info. It is very much appreciated. It can be a very time consuming venture in finding a general part to fit a particular situation. Where did you wire in the oil cooler fan? Can you just wire into the positive terminal of the battery, through a switch, or relay if necessary, and then to the fan, and chassis ground? Read a lot about adding things to the Can Bus system and the problems it can cause.

Glen,
No worries, couldn't find the part number so gave spal a call. I purchased and installed part #
30100403 http://www.spalusa.com/store/main.aspx?p=itemdetail&item=30100403 . I too was worried about adding more electrics to the bike but decided to take a chance because the bike temp just climbs like a scalded cat in the summer bumper to bumper. We mounted it on the front of the oil cooler and it barely fits. This is the largest fan you will be able to shoe horn in there. We were only able to hook up 2 of the 4 fasteners to the cooler but it was more than adequate because of the fit. If you are looking for a factory finish you may want to go down a size as this one is just a little too big. We wired it directly to the battery as we installed the night before Durango trip and were in a hurry. Hate this setup as it would only take one over curious person to flip on the fan and kill my battery for me. I'll end up putting it on a relay, probably this eve, triggering off of the head light wire.

BTW, installed the new RS fan. The one thing that stands out as different between the old and new is the new one has a built in shrowd around it so that is covers the entire backside of the radiator. Hopefully will be able to try out in the very near future.

I looked at the newer radiator fans and there are two different ones. Up through 2010, the fan is a newer unit from the 2008. 2011 has a different part number from the 2010. Which would be best to put on my 2008? Does one fit better or are the specs different from 2010 to 2011 fans?

Glen, responded to your PM. Was not aware of the different part numbers. If I'm remembering correctly the BRP tech said anything up to 2011 would fit my bike just fine. There are a lot of folks on this forum that are extremely knowledgable but I aint one of them. I highly suggest you discuss with your dealer before you make any decisions.

I can tell you the one I bought fits and kicks on at 5 bars just like it should. It may be only wishful thinking on my part but I did get the impression it was pulling a lot more air through the radiator than the old one. Hopefully in about a week I'll be able to climb back up on my bike and go find some traffic to sit in so I can try it out.
