Kumho going on Wednesday morning. Got 7600 miles out of the OEM Kenda. Must have got one of the soft compound ones. Only $81 for the Kumho at Discount Tires for my '98 VW Golf aka '14 RTL. Keep in mind that some dealers will only mount an OEM. My dealer does not have a problem with the Kumho. It is also directional like the Kenda.anyone try putting other brand tires on the Spyders than to ones that

My experience matches the above post almost exactly. We got abouit 6,000 on the OEM Kenda and it was done. The Kumho Ecsta AST has been on for about 1,000 miles now and the feel is noticeably better. Can't speak to mileage but I believe all the '13s got the soft Kenda.I have a 2013 RTS I purchased in July with 6700 miles on it and the original rear Kenda was about shot. I got about another 1000 miles and decided it was unsafe to go any longer.
I replaced the Kenda garbage with a Kumho Esta AST and can not say enough the handling improvement is unbelievable, totally eliminated the wallowing feel the original tire had. We live in the Ozark mountains where all roads are very curvy and you would not believe the improvement. With the Kumho my RTS handles better than the 2015's we test rode at Spyderfest, at least as well as the new F3. The Kumho has about 2000 miles now and shows no wear.
I went with the Toyo Proxes 4, same size as original Kenda > 225/50r15. Rating 95V.anyone try putting other brand tires on the Spyders than to ones that

Its unfortunate that that Toyo is no longer available. I went with the Yokohama S-Drive and was very pleased as are several others I know that went with this tire.
Pam,Hello Spyderman
If you search using the term "Tire" you will find hundreds of posts on this topic. Lot's of different suggestions on tire brands, pros and cons, etc.
Personally, I'm going with the General Altimax on my rear as soon as this OEM tire is finished. It looks like I have another 7-8,000 to go on it.
