• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just ordered my F1 Queen today. It has a slider. Marcel said it had a 40% reduction of wind and noise compared to the original F1. It should be here in a week. Getting the Spyder ready for Dragon's Tail in North Carolina! Upgraded wheels mounted this Saturday.:clap::2excited:

Picture shown in link is dark smoke.

The screws are in black. Yes, I got the sale price. I like the new fairing...the Mantis. Pretty cool looking but want to keep the "sport" look on my bike as much as I can.:doorag:

Think he meant the slider mechanism itself, on the inside of the bottom shield, where the top shield is mounted. What finish is that?

Is the top 'sliding part' tinted or clear?

If you have to look through the top part, then I believe by law they have to be clear for safety reasons (riding at night for example). Suppose you could always lower it at night.

The sliding part is available in clear, light smoke, and dark smoke. On the recommendation of Docduro I went with both panels dark smoke. I'm hoping it doesn't reduce visibility when the slider is not out because then you have dark smoke on dark smoke. We shall see....I'll let you guys know how I like it.:2thumbs::2thumbs:

Any front tinted windshield that is in your line of sight can get you a ticket. According to DOT if you look through it - it's supposed to be transparant. Doubt its enforced much on bikes - but if it was a car you'd get nailed pretty quick. My concern would be riding at night when you want the screen far up to keep the bugs off. If you're taller than the shield - no problem.

When the slider is down, you should be able to see over both portions of the windshield. Visibility in that case should not be an issue. If you can't see over the lowered slider, Marcel sold you too big of a windshield.
