There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Orange fluid on garage floor - coolant?

I was moving stuff around in the garage today, including the Spyder. Underneath I found orange fluid, enough to run towards the garage floor drain. I would guess about one cup. I am assuming this is coolant, though it doesn't appear to have an odor. What else could it be? If it is coolant, I wonder what is going on? I haven't ridden it in about a month.

There is an orange-colored coolant. You should look for where the leak is coming from. Hose connections, Tank etc.

There is a drain hose hanging down, like a car's air conditioning condensation drain hose, close to where the coolant is dripping from. I just happened to notice this, but I doubt it is where the coolant is coming from.

I believe my coolant is rather pink in my 2020 RTL, do you have a pet that likes tires ? Don't ask me how I know!

Orange Color Coolant

:coffee: Spyder blood/Coolant is leaking from your Ryde. I had a water pump leaking on mine. Remove the plastic on the right side and check. I noticed a white residue coming from the pump.

Good Luck with Your Mission. .....

Check all those factory oetiker clamps when you start pulling any panels. I have had to replace every single one of them with screw type clamps due to some form of leaking over time.

Just took a peek, and it is still dripping on the splash guard underneath, then dripping on the floor. Looks like it is coming from or near the right (brake) side radiator. Will pull side panel tomorrow for closer inspection. I will check the clamps too. I am still under BEST warranty until May.

If it's under warranty, I think your dealer should look at it before you dig too far into it .... WHY ???? .... because the dealer might decide YOU BROKE IT !!!! .....Good luck .... Mike

:agree: Definitely let the Dealer have a go at this. I would check out your coolant level in the tank and then call the Spyder Dealer.

DO NOT RYDE/RUN with low Coolant.

What was the Fix

:chat: Just wanted to know if you have any updates about your coolant leak?

I just discovered a new coolant leak yesterday on my Spyder. :banghead:
I will try and check it out tomorrow.......

Update: 12/27/2021 See post #17.

Not updates yet. I have been working on other projects. I will remove the screws on the right side and take a peak inside next weekend. Hopefully it is just a clamp. Thanks for checking in!

Update: I cannot tell exactly where the coolant leak is coming from. I notice a tiny amount of orange fluid in the groove below the bottom water pump bolt (see #1 in pic), but nothing fresh running down the side, no drips. Looks like some of the hose clamps have been replaced with screw-type clamps, some of the pinch-type remain. There is some rust/coolant residue at each clamp (see #2 in pic).

I put a bowl underneath the bike (located it just back and inside right wheel). There is a couple of ounces of coolant in the bowl.

A few ounces is quite a bit ..... How long was the bowl there, ..... Mike

It keeps on leaking like that and the thing will be empty soon and you will have to fill it up again to find the leak!!

Coolant Leak

Okay, so a couple of ounces on the Spyder is a real problem. I always check my plastic reservoir/fill tank for coolant level. Use a small flashlight and shine it into the bottom of the reservoir tank. Easy peasy to see the level.

That being said and checked. If you find that the amount is going down you definitely have a leak issue.
Look at all the coolant hoses and components for signs of a leak.
There will be white tracks or spots showing a leak area.
Of course you will also see that small drop of coolant leak at bigger areas.

I had to clean everything and ryde my Spyder for 30 minutes and then do a quick inspection to see my leaks.

I found three hoses with a drop of coolant. Had the dealer make the repairs because of the factory style clamps. They then checked out the coolant system and no problems were found.

The cold weather is going to make for coolant hoses to leak after several years. Just the way it goes.

Take your time and do a good inspection. Tighten any clamps that are the screw types. Factory clamps are not very friendly with me. So I have the Dealer replace them.

Good Luck with Your Mission. .....

:agree: .... also IF you have ever re-moved the cap ( for any reason ) are you Absolutely sure you got the cap on COMPLETELY, ( it's difficult -at best ) .... the system is pressurized and if cap is not on Competely - TIGHT ... fluid will leak out ..... JMHO .... Mike

In the rt side take plastic off to expose engine the is a coolant hose that has a worm clamp on it a common leak on these have seen serveral
