I bought these and had them installed in an enclosed 20 ft. trailer. I had been using the ratchet straps since 2010, and had mixed results with them. We did some long trips and trips to the dealer, who is 90 miles away.Very interested in SuperClamp Ty Down for Spyder. Any feed back would be appreciated.
Great concept but pricy !
Thanks in advance.
I'm using them right now to haul my Spyder to Springfield MO. I love them :thumbup:
I think the same way. I don't get it. I would like to be educated on this. What I do now is use two motorcycle straps in the front--each hooked to the sway bar and then to the respective sides of a flat bed trailer. I then take one strap and loop it through the rear wheel and ratchet to the right, and do the same on the left. I do not understand how come the super clamps are better than this...can someone explain?OK, admit I have never tied down the Spyders but have been trailering carss to events for many years using ratchet straps and or wheel baskets.
I don't understand what these pricy brackets are supposed to do for me that the large box of straps I already own will not. Why is it supposedly so hard to tie down a Spyder on a flat bed trailer? I plan to haul our two to Durango.
I use straps myself, although the Superclamps offer a lot of convenience that would be handy sometimes. If you are going to use straps, however, do it right! Tying down through the swaybar or the a-frames is not good. You can cause irreversible suspension damage. Tie them down through the wheels, as BRP prescribes.I think the same way. I don't get it. Interested.... Which model did you use? Did you use their Quik Disconnect kit also ?I have used the Black & Gray Chocks for almost 6 years and they have performed flawlessly for thousands of miles of towing both of the Spyders I have owned.
I would recommend them highly, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
