• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

One key or two

Bought the Spyder three weeks ago. While enjoying the long buying process they said “here’s your one and only key” I said thanks and grabbed the owners manual. Owners manual says 2 keys. So we blind sided the service department by letting them know we would be back in three weeks. They didn’t realize the key was uncut and needed programmed! We’re 90 minutes away and asked several times if they would be ready for us Saturday. So the new plan is they will bring the bike and extra key to us Tuesday!
Dealer said I was the first to read true manual about getting two keys.

Two Keys

:coffee: An interesting start one or two keys. For a new Spyder it should be a 'two key' deal. A used Spyder could be a 'one key' factor.

I would not purchase any vehicle without two sets of keys.
Be sure you have the second set of keys in your deal.

Good Luck on Your Mission. .....

bought my limited 4 weeks ago, got 2 coded key, that is the standard with anything new, even a riding mower or atv,

Someone at Lexington Motorsports has accomplished a rare and difficult feat to get one's head elsewhere in its own body where it can't see the light of day.

& or well invested in whoever they “recommend” cut all the duplicates :barf:(good old buddy system)

Same experience in South Florida last weekend. Even called Can Am personally and they stated that they only come with one key now. I pointed out the the owners manual that came with the F3 stated 2 keys as does their online downloadable manual. I also told him that the loss of that single key would reslult in a very expensive repair to get the bike started again. He consulted a mysterious 'supervisor' and was ultimately of no help whatsoever. Guess I'll have to go beat up the dealership and try Can Am again on Monday.

As Cruzr Joe said, all new Spyders come FROM THE FACTORY with (2) keys. If you're buying a brand new Spyder and the dealer tells you otherwise, I'd say it time to stop the transaction and find another dealer.

If there is only one key I would file in small claims court and ask for the second key. take the owners manual and a printout of the page from the computer.

My guess (and it's just a guess) is that the dealer is keeping the second key in case the unit has to be repossessed. He has no right to do that no matter what. I'll also guess that it's a small dealer.

They owe you a key.
