• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ok on a positive note:

Purchased a 2008 SE5 demo last fall. Had a couple of shifter (clutch )problems that where corrected after 2 visits to my local dealer. They receiently replace the whole clutch assembly and did the software patch for steering etc. Beginning to trust the Spyder again. Nothing worst then taking it for a ride and wondering what problem is going to show up. All seems fine now thanks to my dealer Bob and his mechanic at Bob's Ski Doo in Easton Mass. Very professional crew. All service work cost me nothing.

Glad you got it sorted out. I had a chance to ride an SE5 one morning earlier this week and I really liked it, much more than I was expecting to. It's pretty cool to be able to do those instant shifts. :2thumbs:

Happy Owner before the update. Really happy owner after the update.

Just doesn't get any better than this!

YE, very happy with the Spyder. 3400 miles or so. I prefer Jelly dougnuts. Some to do with wearing a Police badge for awhile ???

Again, I am impressed with the loyalty of the Spyder clan. I love my
Spyder, but she is much more high maintenance than I had expected. How about a 1/2 Yea. I will wait and see how things go.

Sometimes loyaly is earned, sometimes is is granted, and sometimes it is abandonded for no good reason.

I guess the perspective just depends. I've done very little to my Spyder other than change things that didn't HAVE to be changed (but I'm glad I did).

So far it's been a low maintence machine, as these things go.

I think for a lot of people the Spyder is the first motorcycle/high performance machine they've ever owned.

When you compare the Spyder to a brand new Toyota that you take in for an oil change every 7,500 miles and change the spark plugs every 100,000 miles, yes, the Spyder is high maintenance.

But compared to my history of motorcycles, I'd say the Spyder is average. Certainly not high maintenance. I know others have had a different experience but this has been mine.

+1 on the reliability (so far) for me too. I've got 2,900 km (1,775 miles) in 4 weeks of rydership and all is good.

Covered 690 km (430 mi) today just to go somewhere out of the way for lunch.

It was my first longish ryde and the first with the 1" BRP riser and the handlebar weights, and am very pleased with both. Can't wait for my RoboBracket to arrive so I can solve the airflow to the top of my head.

Cheers,
Rod.

Yeah!

On my way to the 400 mile mark on the odometer, I get slack from the Harley guys at work, but I think it's fear... I love it, just blowin $$ on parts is my downfall. TBR exhaust, juice box, evoluzione air intake, working on some custom graphix now, I posted pics in the my spyder mods section. Should all be here and installed in 2 weeks.. Depending on my time off work. I wouldn't give it away for nothin..
