• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ok gun owners, another WHAT DO YOU THINK question

Where I live, 9mm are plentiful. Plan on spending $20+ for a box. 22's are extremely hard to find. And here in NY we cant order online and have them shipped in.

This proposal (like most "common sense" proposals) would not impact the criminal and only adversely impact the law abiding with higher manufacturing costs passed on to the consumer.

If you want to deter crime you enforce existing laws with consequences that have teeth. <new tangent> Our national prison industrial complex (and it's lobbyists) make money per inmate so consequences with teeth are out of the question.

I just love how the Fed Govt likes to tell people what they can and can't do. First its the assault guns and now the .223/5.56 ammo. Just another executive order in trying to push his personal agenda before his term is over. Time to start looking for a reloader. The Dillon 650 XL is looking pretty good right now.

i am going to a range soon and i need to buy 9mm's. wondering what they are a box now

I recently got some from Walmart for $26+ per box of 100 (Winchester white box). They also had Federal aluminum case for under $10 per box of 50. My Police friends, one who is an Armouror for his department, recommended I stay away from the TulAmmo branded ammunition, which comes from Russia. Some has steel cases, which is hard on the gun's chamber. Caused multiple failure to feed issues on my new Taurus PT111.

I don't have a problem with this.
I will say though that most crimes of this nature are probably done with law abiding citizens.
We've all had a bad day, some worse than others.
BTW down here you can buy all the ammo you want.
A couple of years ago we probably doubled the gun stores.
We even have gun stores with virtual targets so you can see exactly where your hitting in real time.

Form of Gun Ban by proxy.

This brass stamping law was passed in California. The gun manufacturers have been unable to create a gun that will fulfill this laws requirements. Therefore, when the law takes effect, no new handguns will be sold in California. Some very creative people are finding ways around the U.S. Constitutions 2nd amendment guarantees. Different here in AZ. Love our guns. My carry weapon has it's own toothbrush.

how about we just enforce the laws on the books and then have some judges who have a set to put the bad guys where they belong?

of course we just continue to punish the law abiding folks and let the bad guys do pretty much whatever they want.

I saw a documentary a short while back. Many of the guns used for crime are imported illegally for overseas. They are hand built in one or two man shops and look like them came from a factory. They are hand built and look and operate just like ones built in a factory. They sell for $75-100 at the builders shop and wide up on the streets of America selling for $1000-1200 for a 1911 that looks like Colt built it.

What is 'reasonable'

the government is trying to make gun manufacturers add a small chip mark to all guns that will identify the brass to each individual gun. this mark will be next to the firing pin and will imprint on the rim of the brass. now they can already identify brass to guns that shot it but they want this extra measure. I PERSONALLY don't have a a problem with this because if you do nothing wrong than you have nothing to worry about. the gun manufacturers feel that this will halt sales of guns, but i don't see how.

right now we do have identifying marks from ballistics so why would law abiding people mind this new mark?.

Please, do not be fooled by "reasonable" sounding talking points put out by the anti this and that. 'It is just about back ground checks' they said. Very dishonest talking points. Hiding the truth seems to be the anti's way. If it is not guns than it is our ammunition they are after. BaldEagle stated the truth in post 32. This is just another assault on your rights. Why should pencil pushers and dishonest agencies (Fast & Furious) have a right to determine how I defend myself and my family by trying to outlaw certain sport amunition? I live rural. Too much can happen in the time it takes for law enforcement so WE stay protected. I decide what is reasonable. EVERY gun owner and Sportsman needs to step up and join an organization like the xxx. If you do not like them because of some issue than join one that you can stomach. Please be very careful. Here too they are pro sounding but are actually anti. That is the only way we can hold on to our rights. It can not be done individually. I have a relative by marriage who owns guns on an island off the coast of Europe. They said it could not happen. Ask those down under about their "reasonable" laws. There are some who want to 'get all the guns off the streets for good'. Wow. If you have ever said that it could never happen here in this country, please get educated. How many judges would it take to change the Supreme Court in their favor. We do not hear enough of the stories of how a good guy or girl with a gun has stopped a bad guy. It happens more than you could ever imagine and the anti's will never acknowledge that fact and the press will not report. I too enjoy the gun freedoms here in the sun shine state, but there is a certain x rich politician who will be spending huge amounts of money trying to get an anti gun proposition on the ballot here just like the one that passed in the northwest. It too sounded "reasonable" until you read the fine print. Give an inch and they will want a mile.
We the People CANNOT allow anymore "resonable" gun laws and we need to continue to educate our local politicians.

I think every time they do something like this its great money for the places that have the stuff in stock. How many of our rights were taken away after 9/11 that we haven't gotten back? As far as "micro stamping " goes anybody with a dremal tool and 5 minutes can take care of that. They ought to concentrate on criminals instead of trying to make honest people criminals.
