• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm sorry to bother everyone again but I went by what everybody has said on how to hook up the oil pressure gauge, got every thing in started the bike and pressure jumps to 80 psi and stays there. What in the world have I done wrong. I have all the parts which were shown in the drawings. Thanks ahead a time.:(

Mine runs 60-70 PSI cold , then drops to 58 PSI hot while cruising. At idle it ranges 15 - 35 PSI. When it's real hot outside and temp gauge is at 5 bars, the idle pressure is around 12 PSI. Is it possible you gauge is out of cal? Does it change when the engine warms up?

No when I start it jumps to 80 and stays there. I rode about 15 miles and no difference.

OP Check

To put your mind at rest disconnect the oil pressure sending unit and temporarily install a manual mechanical pressure gauge and compare the two readings. As alternative consult the service manual for engineering data.

That's all fine and good but its hard enough to get the sending unit in

Too many possibilities to guess here.....wrong sender for gauge, improperly wired, bad wiring connection, reversed polarity, wrong oil (20W-50), cold engine, etc.. If the reading does not change as the Spyder warms up, you will need to troubleshoot further, no matter how difficult it may be.

I don't understand the need for an oil pressure gauge,:dontknow:
Just something else to look at and worry about...
