• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Checked the oil on my 2013 rss it has 70 miles on it now glad I did oil was all the way up to the top of the tank has anyone ever had this happen on a new machine? Someone at the factory must have been sleeping that day took out about half a quart or so was still just above the full mark i hope it did not hurt anything being that full.

Happened to me on my new 2013 RT-L. I didn't check the oil until I had put a couple hundred miles on it. Dip stick was wet up to the top. Took a bunch out and as far as I can tell, no harm. She is running pretty good with about 3,000 miles. After my 4,000 mile check, I will get her home and check IMMEDIATELY!!

every time i had the shop do the oil change they alwas overfill it so check ever time you let the shop do your oil change, and drain it out.all excess oil gos in the air box.:chat:

Hate to say this.....

I hate to say this, but I take pictures of my Spyder BEFORE service including the underneath of the bike. :yikes::yikes::opps::opps: I do a walk around before it goes into service and after.

I check panels (to make sure I don't lose one on the way home - never had), check for any drips or leaks, how it looks on the outside and underneath BEFORE I leave the dealer after a service check. :D

A little nutty, but I have seen damage done by a dealer during a service job (thankfully not on my bike!). I do NOT check the oil, as I usually check that after riding it awhile. :dontknow:

I just had my first service completed and it went well...no leaks or issues. However, after riding it home, I checked the oil for the first time after the Tech did the oil change, it was about a 1/3 quart low (above the add mark, but definitely below the full mark)! :yikes: Incredible :gaah:, especially after spending $250 for an oil change and first service check.....I still love the 2014 RT L, but will be doing my own maintenance on my bike from now on unless it's warranty or a particular issue.
