• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil in the air filter.

I had the last oil change done by the dealer about 2800 miles ago. I know the dealer used the winter oil (full synthetic) in my 2010 RS SM5. The first 2700 miles were problem free. This weekend I took a trip of about 150 miles each way, but when I got to my destination I noticed what seemed to be oil dripping underneath the air filter.

I checked the oil and did what tests i could with the few tools I had. It seemed the oil was a tad bit low (maybe 1/4-1/3 a quart). This test was done without driving it, but I let the bike warm up until about 5 bars when the fans kicked on then back off. With 5 bars on the temperature gauge it checked at about the min mark. I topped off the oil and the coolant which also seemed a bit on the low side but it's hard to tell without taking the panel off.

Today I got home and i took the panel off and there is definitely oil in the air filter. Would this issue still be linked to an overfill with 2800 miles on the bike before ever seeing any leakage? I haven't had any errors/alarms from nanny.

Just kinda irks me since it was done at the dealership (with a $150 price tag) and they still added too much oil. I think since I'm close to the 3k mark that I'm going to wait a few days for my filter to arrive (thanks to bajaron) and do my own oil change before I take it out. Mostly so I don't have to put all the tupperware back on just to take it back off in another week.
