There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Oil drippings

Hi all,

Since about 200 mi. after 3100 mi. oil change done at the dealer shop have seen 4-5 total oil drippings in right side tunnel just behind radiator fan and in tunnel around crankshaft cover that says "Rotax" on it.

Cleaned them up once and they seem to be back, have been checking oil and so far it's not showing low.
I think the dealer may have overfilled, where does the oil in the air box dripping show?

Best,
Y

Run your hand under the bottom of the air box, If it's wet [oil] More than likely it's from blow bye.

The airbox oil can land almost anywhere, usually on the right side. Once it drips into the wiring split-loom, it can travel quite far before it comes out. As was said, wipe your hand under the airbox, and also on the hoses and wires beneath and behind it. If you look in your airbox and feel or see oil, chances are pretty good that some has also leaked out.

Is this serious?

Hi,

Can someone kindly point me in the direction of what to do?
Is this a serious problem of can it wait until the next oil change?

It's not a serious problem, but it can be a messy one. Beyond cleaning it up once in a while, just keep an eye on your oil level. Motorcycle used tyo leak and blow by oil all the time, and it never bothered anyone. Now it seems to be a crime.

Think I found it

Hi,

Looks like oil was overfilled a we bit.
Cold, it is a pen thickness above full, at 1 notch and 2 notches on the heat-o-meter it is almost a finger width (pointing).

I was considering a run to the hardware store for a cheap oil sucker or perhaps a turkey baster and suck some of the oil out.
It it critical to remove the overfill or can spyder live with it for awhile?

Thank you

Okay, Thank you for the reply.
I'm glad it will not explode.

Good news, sort of

Hi all,

After checking and rechecking is a generally OCD fashion my oil was over by about a cup.
Removed the oil and the air box drippings went away.

Got to show my dealer the extra oil he gave me. :lecturef_smilie:

Do you think that riding 600 plus miles on this much extra oil did for my seals or rings?
