• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Ohio couple killed

As sad as this certainly is, the only thing it appears the spyder had to do with it was being the weapon of choice. :(

RE: Safety Videos

You should receive a DVD in the package that contains the Owners Manual. This was included with all 4 of my new Spyders. The video has ads for BRP, explains the VSS and other features and shows how to learn to drive the Spyder.

I have also seen the video playing a few times at my dealer. I take the video out and review it at least once a year before driving season. It was also a must when introducing new drivers to the Spyder.

First off RIP to the couple , that is sad. Second dealers want your $$$$ its the same with 2 wheeled motorcycles, getting a new biker and trying to sell them on a 1000cc sportbike . Im sure there are a lot of good dealers who dont do that stuff , its the ones who do that are idiots. I wonder if the manager actually did look into it or just said that to shut you up .

Two threads I could have posted this in .....both were relevant.

Article in todays paper about a couple killed last night riding their 2012 spyder. Failed to negotiate a curve , hit a ditch and overturned and pronounced dead at the scene. Patrol stated that neither were wearing helmets. No other details were given .

I'm wondering if part of the cause might have been from a salesman telling them the spyder is almost impossible to flip and cannot go into a turn too fast. I was at a dealership last week and heard a salesman telling a guy that and I had to speak up.Salesman was new and didn't even know how to start it. He also told the guy that a friend of his rode his to Florida non stop except for 3 times to get gas .From where the accident happened I'm pretty certain the bike was bought at this dealership. Why do salesmen spread these stories other than to make a sale ? I did talk to the manager about it and he said he'd look into it.

Horrible to hear this...but again, no helmets, more deaths...period! The bike is still very, very hard to flip...you really have to over-do it to get it to do so. Some people really like to live on the edge no matter what they're riding/driving. No helmet, fast speed, sharp turns...not a good mix...
