• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I saw a post that mentioned a "two up Shock!" Do they really make one & where can I get a pair of rear ones? See previous post" Bottoming
Out!"

Without a bunch of mods & welding etc, you can't readily stick TWO shocks & spring assemblies under the rear end of a Spyder - they run just ONE coil-over shock arrangement for the rear suspension, altho some models do have an air bag 'height setting/assist, unit that helps the shock/coil maintain the set ride height under varying loads. ;)

The 'Two-up Shock' people are referring to is a single shock/coil spring unit that is a bit 'heavier' cos it's designed to handle the additional loads imposed by regularly riding 'two-up' ie, carrying a rider AND a pillion passenger on the Spyder - two people up on the bike.... if that makes sense to you?!?

Ps, the SHOCK itself doesn't really carry the load, it helps control the compression & rebound of the COIL SPRING, which in the case of our Spyders & many other bikes, is mounted in a 'coil-over shock' design, where the coil spring is mounted over/around the shock shaft &/or body. A 'two-up' shock for your Spyder is a heavier duty coil-over shock arrangement because the OE standard spec unit is really only designed to carry two people occasionally. If you are regularly going to ride loaded or with two people aboard, you are very likely to NEED the stronger/heavier 'Two-up' shock & coil spring unit that BRP are offering, or you'll regularly be bottoming out!! And if your Spyder happens to be a model with the air bag & ACS, it seems the OE standard spec shock/coil arrangement is even lighter & just won't ever carry just the weight of most riders without that air bag assistance, let alone ever carry TWO people!! :dontknow:

Good Luck!
