• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oh, what have I done?

Oh, what have I done?

I drove the 1 hour 20 mins to my nearest Spyder dealer in Memphis today and picked up my new 2011 RTS-SE5 and trailered it home without ever test driving or even hearing a motor fire up on one (except Thursday the 3 hours I was at Spyderfest). My first engine starting and driving being backing it off the trailer onto my driveway, followed by a quick run around my subdivision on it. (Won't have my license until next week so don't tell the law on me)

Well, I think I have really screwed up!!!!! I am self employed and work out of my home and now I will never be able to get any work done with this thing sitting 40 feet away in my garage! LOL!

All I can say is you all are totally right! I know this was a 10 min limited run around a subdivisions many up and down curvy streets at slow 20 to 45 mph speeds, but it is everything so far and more than I hoped. The steering and maneuvering seems very natural to me (having not come from a 2 wheeled motorcycle background since 35 years ago as a teen, but more from recent years driving 4 wheelers and sea doos)

Thanks to all of you for having this great group here which my many hours of trolling and reading educated me enough to take the chance and plunge in headfirst without many worries, and that has seemed to payoff nicely!

Look forward to many years of fun and getting to know you fellow riders!

Enjoy your new ride every chance you get to take a break:2thumbs::yes:

:congrats: people wonder why the grass is so long and there are some weeds in the gardens. Duh. I'm out on my:f_spider: I don't see a problem I've go my priorities straight. Once bitten :f_spider: ryding is infectious!

Enjoy the rydes of your life.

:agree: I can speak for this...:gaah: Unfortunatly (and good for my pocket) the other vendors are not there... Thank goodness I have run into InspectorGadget!!:2thumbs:

Many of us learned a long time ago that buying our Spyder was just the downpayment on accessories. The rest will learn soon enough. :D

:welcome::congrats:
I recently had family move up just NE of you. We plan on visiting them in the near future and visiting some of the Civil War historic sites. Sounds like it might be a good Spyde Ryde.:2thumbs:

Again,:congrats::D

After days and days of rain and me spending all last weekend taking the local MSF Basic course, I got my state test passed for my M endorsement, my tags for Spyder and today sunshine finally!!!!!

So, off on my first 2 hour cruise around town and the back roads all around town getting my first extended full feel of a Spyder. Continues to be a fantastic ride and am 100% sure I did the right thing. Only will need a few mods to make just right (I need foot pegs for my long 6'5" legs to stretch to for sure, and I could use about 2 more inches of length to the sitting area of the seat for the driver stolen from the passengers area so as not to feel so "crunched" in the crotch, LOL)

Working on comparison of SENA vs UCLEAR bluetooth currently to see which one I need to return for credit. (thank god for easy return polices since nobody around here stocks any decent motorcycle stuff)

Thanks again for all the kind "welcomes" "congrats" and comments!!!!
