• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Snow Again?

Stuck up here in Maine! We've had a pretty good winter so far. Seems like we've gotten some warm weather shortly after each storm we've had, even when we got 18'' a while back. They say it's not gonna happen this time though! Gonna be down in the single digits. I'm headed down to Clearwater, Florida at the end of the month. Going to spend March & April there and get an early jump on Spring riding! Yahoo!!!!

I just came in from doing my "Winter Aerobics"... Shovel.gif

We've got six inches down right now, and it's still snowing pretty steady. :gaah:

Cold here in Lansing Michigan. We have maybe an inch on the ground is all. I will be glad once it is gone so I can bring the Harley home from the dealer. I still have my STS SM5 in the garage and up for sale. Gave it a go for two years but she is just not for me. Hope you all stay safe

Dwight,

When Deb and I retire we decided that we are spending winters down south, maybe Central America. nojoke

Move

Snow and cold made the decision for us. We made a New Years resolution on 1/1/11 to sell our home and move somewhere sunny. First, had a critical home inspection done. We then took several months to address those items that were identified. We then began a massive purge of stuff. Had multiple garage sales, eBay and forum sales. Spent the spring and early summer making the acreage look like a park, planting and pruning and mowing and edging. The house sold quickly, but we had a delayed closing. Decided on Las Vegas, rode out here, house hunted, ended up building a new one. Went back to Michigan, closed, went on a east coast trip, then headed out. 73 today and sunny. No regrets! Life is much too short to be miserable!

Greetings from sunny and "warm" Alaska. We only received an inch of the white stuff last night. The news last night was talking about the "lack" of snow on the trails for the Iditarod sled dog race to take place in about a month. They may have to start in Fairbanks (about 350 miles north of the "usual").

My Missus has decided that we need to "upgrade" our snowthrower...
The 24" Troy Bilt is going to get a bigger brother!

(...Looking at a 30", three-Stage setup...)

Geeez, I really dunno what you all are complaining about! A bit of cooler weather here might be nice Down Under, can you send us some?! It's been so hot down here that I haven't been able to ryde (or drive!) cos every time I try to get outta the drive the road melts under me!! :yikes:

No kidding, we've had some bloody hot weather here, and it's been interspersed with pretty torrential rain every couple of weeks! And the high % humidity is simply NOT FUNNY!! It's making the grass & weeds grow at a phenomenal rate, & anything that sits still for a few hours starts growing mould!!

I can handle 45 degrees C when it's dry heat like we usually get around here, but this bleedin' humidity makes it feel like you're in a really awful sauna ALL of the time.... and the stinking roads melt so I can't even ryde without covering my white RT with globs & streaks of asphalt; nor take the 4By out cos it leaves obvious tracks dug outta the road surface!! They'll easily be able to track me home, & if they do, they could charge me as much as $1500 per wheel per km for digging up the roads!! :yikes: :banghead:

Oh for just a little snow....

Horrors! Might get down in the low 50s tonight. But back in the 70s tomorrow and around 80 by the weekend.

Lived long enough with snow. Don't need it now.

What is this cold mushy stuff of which you speak?
In only three years I have forgotten it!
But I have not forgotten how to fix things, paint etc.
Some days the Spyder looks forlorn at me. 82 today zip humidity and blue skies.
So of course I fixed two broken lawn sprinklers %#@&^%
