• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Offical Recall @ NHTSA

just got off the phone with my dealer

I am first on the list as soon as the parts come in:clap:. He also said that the recall calls for the brake cbla to be wrapped as well as the evap canister. The job should take 1.5 hours.

personally

i feel they could of done a better job at fixing the problem than just putting heat insulation on it. they could of changed it to metal with the tape over it. i figured it was plastic so you can see the level but now they are covering it so you can't see it so why not just replace it

I don't believe you can see the level of the brake fluid...that would be under your seat area

:agree: Fluid levels are checked up under the seat; and in a good spot to drip the brake fluid down into the guts of the bike and onto the frame... :gaah:

Called can am to day, verified mine was part of recall. Called dealer and they will notify me when part arrives and schedule an appointment .

Post #3 has a link to several good photos of the fix. Don't know why plastic was used but I don't believe it was to visualize the fluid level. You would have to remove Tupperware on the right side to see it.

You don't check the fluid level in the manifold. It is always full and the plastic was never clear. You check the fluid level in the reservoir tank under the seat. Check out your owners manual there is a lot of good information in it.

Yes but brake fluid is water soluable just get out the hose and rinse it off with water.

I AGREE...BANDAID why not put a metal cover on the red hot brake fluid....

My thoughts....It has to do with MONEY....somebody felt they could save $2 by using plastic...it is always about money

Thanks..!!

this will help all those involved with this problem. It is a solution to keep all those units on the road safe. If they later come up with a modification I'm sure it can be retrofitted. Probably on our dime. So get it done get on the road and enjoy your ryde....:ohyea:

Ready to install the fix...whatever it is.

I just got a call from my dealer, Velocity Power Sports, Ladson, SC. I have an appointment to have the BRP fix installed on Monday. As soon as I see what it is, I'll post it. After I first posted this, I saw the pictures linked to post #3.

I don't have a dog in this hunt but I do hope this is a step in the right direction. Shawn did a great job on those pics showing the fix.
