• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

OEM Spyder Hitch Ball

Has anyone out there tried to remove the hitch ball that comes mounted on the OEM Spyder Hitch?

I have tried everything including a 4 foot breaker bar on the nut and the ball both and ended up bending one of the Snap-On breaker bars.

Any help would be appreciated.

IMG_5741.jpg:gaah: Wanted to swap to one of those interchangeable types where you have 1 stud & can swap the ball size with no tools:thumbup:
the hitch to low to ground to get my impact to fit, went by Harley shop tech got it off for free :clap: :2thumbs: Was surprised to see the amount of rust inside & no lock tight. Applied anti-seize appropriately when put back on. FYI the oem hitch hole too small to fit the interchangeable type:banghead: not sure the diameter sorry. Don't get hernia attempting at that low position :lecturef_smilie:

If you get it off, drill the hole out and use whatever you please. Yet another reason to go with aftermarket.

With rust who needs locktite.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

took the hitch off the bike, clamped the ball in a vise, added a little bit of heat, used a 36" breaker bar and off it came.
