oem fox podium shock upgrade with a baja ron bar?

anyone tried the factory fox shock upgrade for the st. ? was it worth it. I don't think the stock ones are all that bad , and I don't want to spend the money for the elka's. so I figured I may try these along with the Baja ron swaybar. looking for opinions. I'm fairly happy with the handling, but when I take my wife along body roll in the turns is a little to much for my liking when we are 2-up. so my thought was adjustable shocks to go with the anti swaybar.

I would do Ron's swaybar first before you upgrade the shocks. That is what I did and the difference is HUGE! It made such a difference I kind of forgot about the shock upgrade for about 5000 miles. I did eventually upgrade the shocks but I went with the Elka's and I also replaced the rear shock with an Elka as we would occassionally bottom the stock shock when riding 2 up and the stock rear shock is not adjustable.

can't swing the elkas either but started with the swaybar and hiem joints from BajaRon and later the shock relocators from pitbull and things are sweet.. :thumbup:

what springs did you get? I checked the eibach website since it's listed in you sig. but didn't see anything for spyders

I did the Fox shocks and the Bajaron bar and it made a huge difference!

I did them about the same time, so don't know if one part was better than the other? :sour:

I have the fox shocks with stock swaybar, but mainly ride solo, I am very happy with the handling.
But you also need to keep in mind that the shocks and swaybar do 2 different jobs, so you need to
work out what you want your Spyder to do better, and take the option of swaybar or shocks to get it
to perform how you want it to.

you have to do a little work before you order springs. The work I did was for the RTS but it is the same for the fox.

Get a a ruler and measure the length of the spring on the front shock, include the inside diameter of the spring.

next, you need to do a little riding to see how much of the shock range you are using. To do this, you have to pull you rubber bumper on each front shock down so they are snug against the shock body. If you are lucky, they will have enough grip to the shock shaft to hug it and stay where they are pushed. Now go riding. When you come back, tell me how far up they are from the shock body. Also, I need your weight when riding solo and your estimated weight when 2 up.

How are you with being able to swapping springs? I can help you but we have to deal with the postage costs. If you are near n. Va, we can do it that way.

let me know if you want to go down this path. I have only converted one rider...
