• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

NUMBER ONE UPGRADE FOR THE SPYDER...

bjt.

Thank you for your help with this...I have the link and will order next month...good change for better headlights and for more visibility...

As many have said, it's a personal preference thing.

However, I've got:
Cover: Great value given the investment you've made and dependening on where you store the Sypder. Even in a shed, birds still manage to put a deposit on the Spyder.
Seat Skin: Given I put a hole in my original that black windscreen goo fixed but was still visible.
Hindle: Must have. The Spyder is now not just visual but aural. Just need Castrol R (castor oil) to fix the other sense. Now with the sound, I'm not just another old f-a-r-t on a 3-wheeler. It also looks "stock", a reasonable size and not like a Hoover.

Wish list:
Mirror extensions: Mirrors absolutely useless with a swag on the back.
GPS holder: Got a GPS (car), just need a better holder. In the meantime, the suction cup actually sticks great to the Speedo or Tacho. Have a RAM mount on order.

Not Interested:
Windscreen: The stock one is great, especially with that lip. Suppose it depends on what you are used to. I'm finding that all the wind (and associated noise) is actually coming from under the windscreen, not over the top.

Since I went to this topic, I keep getting

in a window. Is anyone else getting this? It's the only place I seem to be getting this message/window.

I've used AdAware to clean the message et al. and then wander all over the internet. Nothing. As soon as I get back to this topic, the message appears. Guess I'll have to use AdWare again.

there is a picture in vwatso's post that is linked to this website. I was getting this message too and that's what's I've found. If you right click on that non-showing image in his post and select show picture you will get the message again.

I was reading one of my bike mags the other day, and there is now a Nitron synthetic oil with castor oil fragrance. ElfMoto Sounds interesting for an old racer. Difficult Web site, and the oil is only available in 10W-50, but it comes in metal cans, like real oil.

Not all, but certainly a lot! Glad someone besides me noticed. I was beginning to think I was hallucinating.

Love my risers, highway pegs, mirror extentions, GPS, XM, Bustec Trailer and Hitch, HID's, Tripple Play, and whatever pipe I have at the time. :doorag:

One forum member (MetroAsian) must have had something in his sig line causing that message. Notice the site is sunbeltrentals and MetroAsian was on here touting that business for Spyder rentals in California.

So far I have----

:spyder: What is it?
Can anyone list the top upgrades for a Spyder?
Must haves and why?

as original installed equiptment:
1. Lighting/electrical including 12V plug, fog lights(very good), HID lights (great), and of course the harnes.
2. Passenger backrest and sport rack.
3. Little red caliper covers.
4. Outdoor cover, just a pole barn on the farm.

After Market:
Magic Man set me up with a Cal-Si large 23.5" wind screen allowing this old Vet a quiet, relaxed, BUG FREE riding environment.

Wish List:
1. Mirror extenxions
2. Seat skin for a cool, dry butt.
3. Corbin bags so Iktome can carry a week's worth of supplies without crushing the Bunny Bread.
4. Bag liners all the way around.
5. Alarm system.

REQUIRED, NOT YET AVAILABLE!
A Factory Support Team that will listen, respond, and work rapidly to handle customer complaints. Many Spyder SE-5s DO have a problem with the clutch / transmission sensors and control systems. It may be a lame mule story but as I have said before: I paid as much for my Spyder as I did my Forester. The Subaru has stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, power steering, fuel injection, etc all contoled by computers. In over four years I have never been without that ride more than six hours for any service or maintainence. I already have my title from the State of Florida and still have not received my owner's card and package from BRP.

I have the wheels, cowl, trunk liner, red caliper stickers, Kury grips, CalSci shield, Hindle and the new clutch lever. I think the wheels and the Hindle are the best looking mods. The clutch lever is the best functional mod.

To be honest, I'm not all that excited about any of them. They're good, but not as exciting as many of the mods available for more established bikes. I hope the choices get better over time.

I could get very excited about a real well executed cruise control!

Jeff...

I'm with you...an easy to install, high quality cruise control option would be great for highway use...gives you back use of your hands instead of having to throttle forever...

I'll get the NMN HIDs as they appear to be a hit...

I really like my zumo 550 addition a lot as it's a very functional toy...had it hardwired at the dealership...also like my mono seat cowl...looks sleek. The mirror extensions (kewlmetal) are a must...
