• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Now Why Did They Do This??

OK, I can take this even further downhill. Since the British drive on the left, why aren't the Brit bike kickstands on the right? :D

It would have to be based on the fact that everyone mounted their horse from the left.. Gotta be force of habit!!!

That's easy... Since Lucas designed the lighting system, they were working in the dark and just got a bit confused...

Oh! Liability issues of leaving a key in the ignition... Depending on your State: NONE! Insurance contracts are generally held to the standard that liability coverage exists only for operators who have permission to use the vehicle... This is done so that if a miscreant swipes it and really buggers somebody up in an accident, the Company doesn't have to pay for the damages...

Some of us arent cool enough to have gotten the key holder since some of us bought ours used and the previous owner wasnt cool LOL . Making out spyders with some kind of "keyless " ignition wouldnt be to difficult . Thinking about it and putting it into realtiy right now would probably be some $$$$ ( just like putting a remote start on our spyders dont give me any ideas i have a extra remote start sitting right over there !!!). I knmow my Lancer sportback has the "keyless" system but i still have a nubby where the key would go so its still mechanical not just electrical but maybe incorporating Lamonts IPS into this with a more stationary IPS could work . Maybe this will be a winter project, Maybe have to jump around a little more than just pushing the mode switch to start the spyder for safety ... hmmmmmmmm I have 9 more hours at work to think about this .

The sheath is available separately. P/N 710001102, MSRP $12.49.

+A small zippered compartment on the left forearm of my Centurion suit has an expandable strap holding my sheath. My key nestles in the sheath within the compartment when it's not in the ignition.

I like the sheath setup.

Ride on.

That's what pockets are for.

For some unexplainable reason, I've read every one of the things in this thread. Why not just get in the habit of putting the key in your same pocket every time? Then you don't have to carry a key chain or lockbox full of keys. Always have a spare key accessable someplace on/in the vehicle -do use one every once in a while. I've done this for almost 74 years and never had to hitchhike home - although the day is probably coming!! :yikes:

.:agree:.
Pockets are great. Unless they are the kind that come in a pair of shorts where the waist hangs down around your knee-capps:roflblack:

Pockets

Shoot that's easy - don't buy pants or shorts with anything less than acceptable front pockets. ***** might start a key-a-care social program if he reads this thread. What do you think the chances of that are??
Can hardly wait for tomorrow's inspirational subject. Interesting how many basic challenges there are to everyday life!! :doorag:

Gee... If I had knonw that life was gonna be this tough... I'd have had second thoughts about the whole thing!:hun::roflblack:

Back to keys for a second...
I've always been happiest when I had my keys hooked solidly to something that I could put in a pocket. Being about as ham-fisted as a human can be without starving to death; this meant a keychain!
If you're not happy with BRP's sheath; this is a viable option!
If the IPS doesn;t float your boat for whatever reason; this is a viable option!

'nuff said...

key

IN THE IGNIION, TURNED TO THE RIGHT, WITH THE WIND IN YOUR FACE SO HARD, THAT THE KEY IS NEVER LOOKED AT:):yes::yes::yes::yes:
